Weekly programs are drop in; TD Summer Reading Club membership required. No charge.Through classes and hands-on learning focused on nature and science, your child will be an active Library Champion!

All children who register for the TD Summer Reading Club will receive a magazine, passport, and stickers. These can be picked up at any branch starting Wednesday, July 2nd or at a Summer Reading Club program. Club members also ride Durham Region Transit for free during the summer through the Ride to Read program.

TD Summer Reading Club

Ride to ReadYour children can ride Durham Region Transit (DRT) for free in July and August as a member of the TD Summer Reading Club!

Children 10 years of age and under must be accompanied by a fare-paying caregiver while on DRT.

At Home On My Own [Ages 10 to 12]

This Canadian Safety Council Course provides the tools and information needed for your pre-teen to stay at home alone for short periods of time. ThecourseisfacilitatedbyRedCrosscertifiedinstructors from React Right Safety Services.

Topics Include:

• Looking after the house key (make a key chain);

• Preparing healthy snacks;• Walking home;• Appropriate activities when home alone;• Electrical/Fire Safety;• Problem solving – house broken into, parents don’t come

home, severe weather, etc.; and• Basic First Aid.

Babysitting Course [Ages 11 to 15]
