What are LibGuides?
LibGuides are online research guides that you can create to fit your students’ needs. They are a tool available through springshare.com, a library web
technology vendor.
PAUSD pays springshare.com $3007/year for as many LibGuides as our schools choose to create. However, if you would like to use
PAUSD’s LibGuides, it won’t cost you a penny!
Some Cool Stats
PAUSD has over 206 published LibGuides, making it the 15th in the nation of 1015 K-12 districts using LibGuides. How many times have just the top ten
PAUSD LibGuides been accessed in the short period from January -June of 2014?

Two of your schools already have LibGuide accounts- Mountain View High and Los Altos High. See your Teacher Librarian for an account if you
don’t have one already.

PAUSD has special features added to its account which has brought its cost up. If your school
wished to open a LibGuide account and make as many LibGuides as desired, the cost would be
$799/year.
