excuse…” Romans 1:20

Prelude Welcome Ministry Minute Harvest Party Outreach Youth Directors

Phill and Kelly Thomas Silent Prayer of Preparation Call to Worship *Hymn of Adoration The Spacious Firmament #103 *Invocation Confession of Sin: Lord, many of us are Your children, for You have graciously called us to Yourself. You opened our eyes to see our sin, and you granted us the gift of repentance, and the gift of faith in Christ alone. We are forgiven; we are justified; and You have begun, in us, the process of sanctification. But that process is not yet complete in any of us. As earnestly as we may try to please You, we continue to struggle against our flesh. Even now, as we gather in worship, we are aware that we have sinned against You in the past week. So we ask Your forgiveness for times when we worried, and times when we were selfish; for sinful pride, and for our lack of self-control. We ask forgiveness for complaining, for gossiping, for lusting after evil things, for hearts that are inclined to idolatry, and for a general lack of zeal in Your service. For these and other sins too numerous to mention, we humbly repent. We take comfort in the thought that the perfect righteousness of Christ has been freely imputed to each true believer. But we are also aware that many who think they are Your sheep will discover in the last day, that they are not. So Lord, we pray that none assembled with us today will hear those horrifying words on the Day of Judgment, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” Help us then to examine ourselves as to whether we are in the faith, and keep us from sinful presumption. May those of us who think we stand take heed lest we fall. We ask this in the name of the good shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His life for His sheep. Amen.

How Great Thou Art Boberg/Hine

Oh Lord my God

When I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made

I see the stars I hear the rolling thunder

Thy power throughout The universe displayed

How great thou art How great thou art Then sings my soul

My Savior, God, to Thee How great Thou art How great Thou art

Verse 2

And when I think of God, His son not sparing,

Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;

That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing He bled and died

to take away my sin (refrain)

With shout of acclamation And take me home

What joy shall fill my heart Then I shall bow

With humble adoration And then proclaim My God

Applause: If you are blessed by a song from the choir or from others in worship, we encourage you to express your appreciation with an “Amen” or “Praise the Lord,” rather than with applause, because in our culture applause is generally offered to express appreciation to a performer for his/her performance, and what we are doing on Sunday morning is not performing

for men and women, but worshiping our sovereign Lord.

Focus on Missions Please be in prayer for Ben Weinreich as he serves for the next couple of weeks on a short term mission trip in southern Chile. He will help build a community center to serve the Mapuch Indians. Please pray for safety during their work, good communication, and that the Lord will be blessed

through the project.

New Member Seminar I believe that every Christian should be a member of a local Bible-believing church, for personal growth, for accountability, for opportunities of service, to have a part in the choice of leaders, etc. I’m planning a New Member Seminar for Saturday morning, October 28th, from 8:30-12:30. Coffee and muffins will be served to those who promise to be careful not to spill anything. If you wish to attend, please notify me or call or email the church office. If you need to meet on a different date, please let me know. Pastor Russ

Hurricane Maria Relief Please consider partnering with Steven & Becky Vega to support their family and friends in Puerto Rico. Steven's aunt has started a Go-Fund-Me page to raise money for generators and other supplies that she plans to deliver. Please visit http://gf.me/u/df9nuu for more information and to make a donation. Any questions, please speak to Steven Vega. Thank you.

Congregational Meeting Sunday, October 29th at 12:30 pm will be our Semi-Annual Congregational meeting. The purpose of the meeting will be to vote to recommend the adoption of the 2018 Budget including a change in Pastor Barry’s salary. We will also vote on minor changes to our by-laws regarding the officer nominating committee. The copies of the 2018 budget and proposed by-law changes are on the back tables.

Prayer and Praise Service TONIGHT at 6:00 pm Our elders invite you to join them in prayer for our church, our nation and world for an outpouring of God’s Spirit to bring revival. The service will be followed by a fellowship meal at 7:00 pm. We will be having a chili dinner. You’re welcome to bring chili with or without meat or a side dish and dessert. October Blood Drive Our next blood drive is scheduled for Monday, October 23, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall. Please schedule an

appointment after worship or call The Red Cross at 855-210-1278.

An Opportunity to be a Minister of Mercy Liberty's Ministry of Mercy has openings for a few more willing servants. Our Lord calls us to demonstrate our love for Him by loving and caring for each other. The Mercy Needs Ministry does this by sending flowers, cards and notes of encouragement to hurting brethren; providing various forms of practical assistance (including financial, through the generosity of Liberty members) as well as budgetary counseling to those in need; and praying for the flock. We meet together on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Ministries of Mercy bless not only those who receive the help, but also those who offer it. Please prayerfully consider participating in this ministry, and contact either Deacon Jeff Jordan or Elder Michael Anderson if you are interested.

Mercy Needs Request There is a need in the Body for companionship for a disabled person (ambulatory). This could be once a week or once a month for several hours, for a lunch outing or similar activity. The Mercy Needs Committee would reimburse for expenses. Please contact Doug Womer or Jeff Jordan from the Mercy Needs Committee if you are interested.

Christmas Concert The Christmas concert is on Dec 16 and 17. If you would like to sing with the choir just for the Christmas concert, rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 8-9 for Christmas music. We are praying the Lord will increase our numbers, as several of our members have had to step down.

Fall Harvest Party—Friday, October 27th There is an urgent need for volunteers to set up, greet attendees, clean up, help run Harvest games and have spiritual conversations with attendees. WE ALSO NEED CANDY! Baskets to collect candy are near the entrances of the church. Please no candy with peanuts or peanut butter due to many people with peanut allergies. Contact Phill Thomas if you would like to volunteer to help.
