I am Chan Fat Yau. I am now working in the Architectural Services Department as a contract adviser. My duties include providing advice on contractual issues, liaising with our legal advisers on contractual matters and carrying out technical audits on works contracts. In leisure hours, I like reading and seeing movies.

 I worked in the Electricity Legislation Division of EMSD for about 9 years to enforce the Electricity Ordinance and its subsidiary legislations. It involves public and trade education through promotion, establishing and implementing safety standard, and law enforcement for the safety of the public. Since 2009, I was deployed to work in the airport for the operation and maintenance of aviation related electrical and mechanical systems.

Now, I am the section head of the Management Review Section in the Judiciary, and mainly responsible for leading different management reviews, consultancy studies and projects.

Hello everybody. I am from the Transport Department, now heading a small section responsible for planning for the future management and operation of major road infrastructures to be constructed in the territory and across the boundary, e.g. HK-Zhuhai-Macao Main Bridge and its related projects. Look forward to learning from speakers, government colleagues in the course.

 I am CHEUNG Tat-yin and my Christian name is Terry. The Civil Aid Service is my second department in serving and should be the last one before my retirement. Because of the small establishment of the Civil Aid Service (Department), I, being the Staff Officer of the CAS, am the Deputy Head of the Department and responsible for assisting the Chief Staff Officer to manage the Department. To be a volunteer by post, I am the Senior Assistant Commissioner (Operation) in the CAS (Volunteer). I do have my busy and tough career. I have my happy and blessed Christian family which is consisted of my wife, a daughter and a son. My daughter and son are now studying bachelor programme in different Universities in Hong Kong.

Hi. I am Lorrience. I am now working in the Provident Funds Branch of the Treasury. My main duties are to manage the investment portfolios of various Funds and to monitor the performance of the fund managers and custodians. At leisure time, I like hiking, swimming, watching football matches etc.

I have been working in civil engineering field for 30 years. I like travelling very much and every year I shall arrange at least two half-month trips to various places. I also like sports activities a lot, in particular ball games and scuba diving although I am not a skillful diver. Unluckily, I got injury on my hip joint about two years ago and could not play most of the sports games since then.

I am Raymond (Ho) who is now teaming up with some 200 Labour Inspectors tasked to check employers’ compliance with labour laws and protect employees’ statutory rights. In the past 20 years, I have also been engaged in running employment services for young people, conciliating labour disputes, prosecuting employers breaching labour laws and regulating the registration of trade unions.  I am a government dentist, working as Senior Dental Officer (Admin) at the Dental Service Head Office at Wu Chung House, Wanchai. Majority of my work is to handle all sorts of communication & correspondences from other government B&Ds, from external parties such as LegCo, District Councils, political parties etc by providing them with professional inputs and replies, handling of clients’ feedbacks & complaints from internal (eligible civil servants) and external parties (general public) on our dental service, planning & implementation of adhoc projects and initiatives on public dental service in collaboration with other government and non government organizations, and coordination of departmental training activities forour service. As I am a paediatric dentist, apart from admin work, I also perform clinical duties at MacLehose Dental Centre. My clients are mainly children. I enjoy communication with them which will bring me a lot of fun and help me to relax from admin work.

During leisure time in Hong Kong, I enjoy movie and to go around for good food with my husband. I like to travel as well in particular to Japan because of the delicious food and hot spring there.

I am an accountant in profession and joined ICAC in August

1994. The duty of my present post is to head a team of

officers for the conduct of public sector corruption

prevention work. I am married with a daughter who is

studying GCE A levels in UK. I love sports and still play

badminton in competitive matches.

My name is Catherine Ko. I am a solicitor and have been working in the Prosecutions Division, Department of Justice for 15 years. My job involves giving legal advice to departments and prosecuting trials in court, the latter of which is always challenging.  Previously, my duties are quite operational oriented and mainly involved in the control and monitoring of drinking water quality in Hong Kong. With the increase in public expectation and concerns on issues related to the drinking water supply such as safety, resources protection and water conservation, handling of public enquiries and formulation of line-to-take have become an important part of my daily activities now.

 I am a Senior Scientic Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory in charge of the Training and Exercises Division. I joined the Observatory for nearly 20 years, and gained experience in various fields including public and aviation weather services, weather forecasting and numerical weather prediction. I have a son aged 5. I find it challenging to be equally committed to work and family being a working mother.

 My name is Kenneth Leung. I am a senior engineer working in Civil Engineering and Development Department. To introduce myself, I would say I am a person who is keen to learn to gain knowledge. Knowledge is the foundation for solving problems. Solving problems will make our life easier and happier. I am still learning every day.

I have been holding a number of progressive positions in a variety of fields: environmental hygiene, licensing, human resources and training, etc. In my current post, I am the officer in charge of the outsourcing matters in the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, which include arranging for tender exercises and identifying outsourcing opportunity. I would always share my personal time with my wife and friends. My interests range from reading to hiking. When I have long vacation, I would like to travel with my wife to other places and countries.

My duty is to inculcate a safety culture in different industries and the general public through various promotion and publicity campaigns. We try to raise the safety awareness of both the employers and employees so that they will follow proper work procedures and will not take short cuts. This is a soft way to prevent work accidents, but it takes a long time to see the result.

 Hi! My name is Moon-yiu, Tang. I am a civil engineer by profession. I am now working in the Highways Department and am looking after the 400km long roads at Hong Kong Island. It is a challenging job because many of roads are narrow and steep, full of various utilities underneath and densely populated along the two sides. To keep myself in good shape, during weekends I play tennis, hike and watch birds.

I am currently employed as Senior Manager (Planning & Design) in the Urban Renewal Authority, since 2008. Before joining URA I have practiced in Consultant firms for nearly 10 years. My main experience was attained by involvement in both government and private jobs, and I worked as a professional in Architecture field, namely a Registered Architect and an Authorized Person (List I).  Mr. WONG Kwok-yin, Tony married with one son. He joined the Hong Kong Police in 1989 as an Inspector and was promoted to the rank of Superintendent in 2009. During the leisure time, he spends most of the time with his family. Jogging is his favour sport.

Yam Mun Ho任滿河

Call me Yam

I am a registered social worker and have been working in the Social Welfare Department (SWD) for 26 years. Currently, I am responsible for the policy and service development in relation to child protection and combating domestic violence. I also lead a small team to implement the assistance programmes run by SWD under the Community Care Initiative.  Although my working time is long, I keep doing physical exercise everyday for health and fun. Running is my favorite sport because it is a very efficient way to burn calorie and make me relaxed.

 I joined the Hong Kong Fire Services Department in 1985 and have been working in different echelons including operational rescue and fire fighting, fire protection, headquarters administration, as well as the specialized diving team. Between 2009 and 2010, I worked in the Emergency Support Unit of the Security Bureau. Jogging and hiking are my favorite activities.
