This product Specification('Specification' hereinafter) covers the requirements for the rechargeable
Lithium ion battery pack('pack' hereinafter) manufactured and supplied by Enertech International, Inc.
This pack is comprised of lithium ion cells, safety devices and protection circuit units.

5. Smart Battery System Support
5-1. Introduction
This pack has a Smart Function Module with SMBus Interface. It supports the Smart Battery
Data(SBData revision 1.1 fully compatible) commands and SBD data charge control function. The Battery
state of charge, remaining capacity, remaining time, chemistry, and manufacturer information is
available over the serial link.
5-2. Major features
Provides accurate measurement of the electrical properties in the packs such as voltage, current,
temperature, full capacity, remaining capacity and time. Four segment LED display is used to show
remaining capacity.
Battery charge state can be directly indicated using a four segment LED display to graphically depict
battery full-to-empty

5-5. Self Capacity Calibration
FullChargeCapacity(FCC) is the Discharge Capacity of the battery measured at the end.
On initialization(application of Vcc or Reset) FCC is set to the default value such as the Design Capacity.
The FCC is susceptible to error on initialization or if no updates occur. On initialization, the FCC
value includes the error between the design capacity and the actual capacity. This error is present until
a qualified discharge occurs and FCC is updated. The other cause of FCC error is battery wear-out.
As the battery ages, the measured capacity must be adjusted to account for changes in actual battery
capacity.
Periodic qualified discharges from full to empty will minimize errors in FCC.
5-6. Calibration Method
Stpe 1 : Full Charge
For Li-Ion charge control, charging Voltage must be set to the pack voltage desired during the
constant-voltage phase of charging.
The bq2060 detects a current taper termination when the pack voltage is greater than the voltage
determined by Current Taper Qual Voltage in E/R and the charging current is below a threshold
determined by Current Taper Threshold in E/R, for at least 40 s.
Valid charge will not have any errors such as
An over-voltage fault exists when the voltage is more than the overvoltage margin above
the charging voltage
Over current fault exists when the charge current is more than the overcurrent margin above
the charging current
Over-temperature fault exists when the Temperature is greater than or equal to the Max T
value in E/R
Under-temperature faults exists when the Temperature is lower than 0 deg.C

6. Performance and Test
6-1. Test Sampling and environmental condition
6-1-1. Test sample condition
The battery used for the test shall be manufactured and delivered no later than one month
before.
6-1-2. Environmental condition
The test shall be performed at 25C and 65 20%RH.
6-1-3. Test equipment condition
The grade of voltmeter and ammeter used in the test shall be higher than class 0.5, a high
impedance type.
6-2. Standard test conditions
6-2-1. Standard charge
"Standard charge" means charging the pack with charge current 0.45C and constant charge
voltage until reaches charging current to 1/20C at 25C
6-2-2. Standard discharge
"Standard discharge" means discharging the pack with constant discharge current 0.2C
up to discharge cut off voltage at 25C
6-3. General Performance
6-3-1. Initial capacity
Perform the standard charge and discharge cycling for 3 times, and measure the last
discharge capacity.
* The initial capacity shall be higher than minimum capacity.
6-3-2. Cycle life
After 300 cycles of standard charge and discharge as below conditions, the pack is
measured for the duration time.
* Each charge and discharge step include 10 minutes rest time.
* Last discharge capacity after 300th cycle shall be higher than 70% of minimum capacity.
6-3-3. Discharge capacity with temperature
Discharge capacity comparison at each temperature, measured with constant discharge
current and discharge cut off voltage at 25 after standard charge is as follow temperature.
* Pack is charged by standard charge condition.
* Pack is discharged by standard discharge condition with various temperature

6-3-4. Storage
The fully charged pack by the standard charge condition is stored at 25C for 30 days
and then the capacity is measured with the standard discharge condition.
* Remaining Capacity shall be higher than 70% of the minimum capacity.
6-4. Safety Perfomance
6-4-1. Overcharge test
Test method : Apply charge over charge voltage to the pack.
Criteria : PCM shall operate and stop charging,
No damage such as leakage, flame, or fire was allowed.
6-4-2. External short circuit test Test method : Short-circuit the standard charged pack, by connecting positive and negative
Terminals with an appropriate resistor for 1 hour.
Criteria : PCM shall operate and stop discharging.
No damage such as leakage, flame, or fire.
6-4-3. Over discharge test
Test method : Discharge the pack to less than over discharge voltage.
Criteria : PCM shall operate and stop discharging.
No damage such as leakage , flame, or fire.
6-5 Mechanical Perfomance
6-5-1 Drop Test
Test method : Drop the pack on to a concrete floor from 0.76m height in any direction for 1
times.
Criteria : No damage such as leakage, flame, or fire is allowed.
6-5-2 Vibration Test
Test method: This means the endurance of the pack against vibration.
Frequency and amplitude : 10Hz → 55Hz → 10Hz / 0.8mm
Sweep speed : 1 ± 0.055Hz/min
Criteria: No damage such as leakage, flame, or fire was allowed.

Charge before using
New pack is the initialzied. But if used without full charge and discharge state for long time, the accuacy
loss occurred. Recover such packs to original performance through repeating several cycles of full charging
and discharging
11. Long term storage To be stored If the pack is for a long term (3 months or more), it is strongly recommended that the pack be
preserved under dry and low temperature atmosphere conditions.
12. Warranty Manufacturer will be responsible for replacing the battery pack against defects or poor workmanship for 6
months from the date of shipping. Any other problem caused by malfunction of the equipment or misuse of
the battery is not covered under this warranty.

[ Appendix A ] Handling Instruction Guide of Li-ion and Polymer Battery Pack
1. General
Battery packs supplied by Enertech International, Inc. have to be handled carefully according to the
specification.
2. Storage of the pack
2-1. Storage Condition
The pack should be stored within a range of temperature and humidity specified in the product
specification.
2-2. Long term storage
In case of long period storage, more than 3 month, store also the battery pack within a range of
temperature and humidity specified. When store the pack for more than 6 month, charge at least
once per 6 months to prevent leakage, and deterioration in performance due to self-discharge.
3. Charging and Discharging
3-1. Do use suitable charger and charge with specified voltage ,current and temperature, humidity.
We strongly recommend the smart battery charger.
3-2. Never attempt reverse charging. If the pack is mis-connected, it may be damaged.
3-3. Avoid over-charging.
3-4. Do not discharge the pack under over-discharge voltage.
3-5. Over-discharging may cause loss of performance, characteristics of the pack function.
4. Mechanical shock protection
4-1. The battery should be equipped with appropriate shock absorbers in order to minimize shock.
4-2. Otherwise, it may cause shape distortion, leakage, heat generation and/or rupture.
5. For Safety
5-1. Do not short-circuit with metal wire, necklace, chains or any conductors.
5-2. Do not drop the pack from height.
5-3. Do not twist or bend the pack.
5-4. Do not disassemble the pack.
5-5. Do not use the pack when something abnormal is found such as smells, deformation, discoloration,
and so on.
5-6. When the electrolyte leakage occurs, do not touch the liquid.
5-7. Do not soak in water or get it wet.
5-8. Do not have the pack in the hot-temperature (more than 60C).
5-9. Do not put the pack into fire.
5-10. Do not crush/nail the pack.
5-11. Do not apply solder directly to the pack
5-12. Do not charge the pack nearby the fire or under the blazing sun.
5-13. Do not drive a nail into the pack, strike it by hammer, or tread it.
5-14. Do not give the pack impact or throw it.
5-15. Do not use the pack for other equipment.
