Re: PRESCRIBED MUSIC ITEM - ADJUDICATION INVITATION – 2015 UNION COMPETITIONS

Dear Sir / Madam

We the above-mentioned Union’s Events Committee herewith formally invites two to three individuals from your organization to avail themselves to adjudicate our Prescribed Senior Combined Instrumental Items as well as Junior (Instrumental / Vocal) Items on the following dates in 2015 for our 61st Annual Union Competitions:

1) A-Competition (Sunday, 25 January 2015) at FLORIDA PARK, RAVENMEAD STADIUM at 12h00

2) B – Competition (Sunday, 15th or 22nd of February 2015) at FLORIDA PARK, RAVENMEAD STADIUM at 12h00

PREREQUISITES FOR REPRESENTATIVESThe individuals which we require from your organization will form part of a multi-institutional panel of which the requirements for individuals to serve on are as follow:

a) The individual must be a music graduate from an accredited tertiary institution and must major or have extensive knowledge of (Western Classical Music / Religious Music)

b) The individual must have an in-depth knowledge of wind instruments / wind ensembles (brass; reed).

c) The individual may in no way whatsoever have any affiliation to a Christmas Band as part of our policy of total unbiased adjudication.

PURPOSETo adjudicate 7 amateur wind bands (various size ensembles) consisting of members of all ages in a music competition where all bands play the same prescribed music item (short religious composition). Adjudicator is expected to give proper criticism with regard to the interpretation of said music piece as well as give feedback how band can improve in order for musical growth to take place.

Conclusion

Please note that we are a registered non-profit Organization and as such, we rely heavily on the goodwill from individuals from organizations of your stature to spread ever improving spiritual music throughout our impoverished communities and to organize competitions such as these. We are however willing to negotiate within the limitations of our constrained budget should you desire to understandably be compensated for your time and efforts.

Should your organization accept our invitation, kindly forward the names & credentials of the representatives of your organization in writing as well as their contact numbers/e-mail addresses or contact the writer of the letter on the contact number to provide same information or to clear up any information regarding the invitation extended herein.
