For the rest of us make it a priority to attend a class. There is not a valid excuse for not doing so, and believe me I have heard them all! You will not grow in your Christian faith without doing so! For us adults it would be like let- ting our children go through 3 rd grade and then telling them they no longer have to attend school. They would become illiterate and un- productive, which describes the majority of our church members when it comes to our Bible knowledge. Do not settle for that, I im- plore you! I am sure this will aggravate some of you and if it does you are probably the ones who need to be awakened! Christ is counting on you and so is your church! In Christian love (and accountability!) Schools are back in session and off to a great start! Even as our

children and youth continue their learning so should we! As the Bi-

ble says “study to find thyself approved!” Both of our churches

have good attendance for our children but the attendance is poor for

our adults. Is it not important to us? Part of attending bible study

and small groups is to encourage one another in our Christian

growth. Additionally, you are never too old to learn something new!

In some ways technology improves our lives and in other areas I

think it hinders us. It is rare for me to see anybody in either church

with an open Bible during the sermon. We see the scripture on the

screen while it is read and then it is gone. Do you go back and look

it up at home or are you forgetting it as soon as the sermon is over?

I say that somewhat tongue in cheek! Some of our best and bright-

est teachers are our oldest folks! Share your knowledge with the

rest of us! Make time to attend a class. For the rest of us make it a

priority to attend a class. There is not a valid excuse for not doing

so, and believe me I have heard them all! You will not grow in your

Christian faith without doing so! For us adults it would be like let-

ting our children go through 3rd grade and then telling them they no

longer have to attend school. They would become illiterate and un-

productive, which describes the majority of our church members

when it comes to our Bible knowledge. Do not settle for that, I im-

plore you! I am sure this will aggravate some of you and if it does

you are probably the ones who need to be awakened! Christ is

counting on you and so is your church!

Wesley curriculum is a fully resourced Sunday school curriculum for the entire family - from toddlers to adults - with an emphasis that is doctrinally distinctive for the Wesleyan tradition. The lessons combine over 100 years of curriculum development plus contem-porary innovation without sacrificing the holiness distinctive in content and spirit. The Wesley teaching method disciples students in personal holiness, emphasizes Scripture memory, and accentuates personal life application.

FEARLESS

Each sunrise seems to bring fresh reasons for fear. They're talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warm-ing. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison of unlocked doors. Wouldn't it be great to walk out? Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, where you could trust more and fear less. Can you imagine your life without fear?

The New Sunday School Curriculum is in!!! We will be chang-ing the way we do Sunday School starting September 4th. Kids will meet at 9:30 in the Chapel, so we can all do 15-20 minutes of music together. Then we will split into our age groups, and learn the same lesson at an age appropriate level!
