Welcome to Issue 4 of Letz Whisper.

When I started this magazine last December I had a clear vision in fi nding a way to bring local professionals and local foreigners -living or on holiday over here- closer together.

Why travel far to fi nd what you need/want when there is one close by who can help you?

Still, limiting the professionals who are allowed to advertise in the magazine to only 8 villages, seems to be a limited belief as others asked to be part of this project.

So Let’s Whisper sticks to its goal to bring the two parties closer together but will broaden its horizon from now on for the villages surrounding the fi rst 8.

From Alicante to Castalla to Relleu and Villajoyosa and all the villages in between... If you are a local professional speaking/understanding English, please feel free to contact us. And to share some good news: we have gone from a 1200 to 2000 copies this issue!

How to make flip flops with tassels Need a new pair of fl ip fl ops for this summer? Here is a great and cheap idea to customize them. Basically, you have to wrap the yarn around the straps and add some tassels.

You will need a pair of fl op fl ops, silicon glue and yarn.

First make some tassels, we choose to put 3 on each fl ip fl ops but it’s up to you! Cut a piece of cardboard and wrap the thread around it. With an other piece of yarn make a knot on the top. Cut the bottom of the threads. Take an other piece of yarn and make a knot around the tassel to attach all yarns together.

Now, you have to cover the strap with yarn.

Start by making a knot, put some glue on the strap

and wrap the thread around.

Attach the tassel with a knot, and keep wrapping the yarn.

When you want to change color, make a knot with the yarn ends and keep wrapping! Don’t forget to put

glue all along the strap.

Do the same for the other side: knot, glue, wrap, tassel, wrap, more glue...

To fi nish, make a knot and add some extra glue on the inside on the strap. Just to be sure that’s not gonna unwrap!

And done!

Lolita Burguesa was launched in 2014 by Joelle Miramón Giner, a former interior decorator who decided to open her horizon in gastronomy and study all there is to know.Lolita Burguesa is named in memory of her mother ‘Lolita’ who taught her the strong base of several gastronomical cultures and ‘Burguesa’ or ‘bourgeois’ as a last name, to remind us it is a fl agship product. This restaurant is offering the touch of quality and elegance totally opposed to ‘fast food’ to which most of us are accustomed nowadays.

The menu is reasonably extensive and there is an eclectic choice to compliment. Of course Addi and I had to try it out: we took a Maki as entry to share between us and luckily we did so as the portion was very big. We continued each with a burger which were original & very tasty. Let’s not forget to mention that this restaurant has a great location right on the beach near the harbour and the friendly staff is really excellent and multilingual.

How To:• Wash and remove seeds. Cut the apples into slices. There is no need to peel the apples.• Add the apples to the pot and just cover them with water. This juice may come out a bit strong,

but it’s easy to dilute the juice with extra water.• Slowly boil the apples for about 20-25 minutes or until the apples are quite soft. • Place a filter in your sieve and place the sieve over your jar.• Slowly pour the hot juice/apple mixture into the sieve and gently mash the apples. The apple

mush will be left behind. Place the mush in a separate bowl for later. Repeat this process until all of your juice is in the jar.

• You can add sugar or cinnamon.

The apple mush can easily be turned into apple sauce with a blender and add sugar and cinnamon.

Keep it refrigerated and use it within a week.

As a Sheltie of 15 ½ years, I was finding long walks difficult. So, for her 70th birthday I gave my Mom a stroller. We have begun to take long walks again. Early morning is difficult when I am not totally awake or ready to hit the pavement, so we start with me in the stroller. I sit with a royal demeanor as Mom fast walks through the pedestrian street and into the mile long garden walk. I usually wait until we get into the old village, then I stand up, and she puts me out on the sidewalk. It took a couple of days to get this method worked out but Mom is a fast learner. When I need out, I stand up, do my do, walk a while and, when tired, either slow to a crawl or put out my front feet in “stop” position. Mom recognizes that it is time to be back in the stroller. This works so well: I know I don’t have to walk an unlimited distance which was making me balk at taking a walk of any length. Actually, I am walking more, because I usually get out on the way home when familiar odors tell me I can handle the distance, besides, new neighborhood odors need to be checked out. We meander at a pace convenient to my old bones.This exercise is good for Mom, who was getting flabby cutting her walks to accommodate my arthritis. For a year, she carried me a lot but finally her osteopath said, “No more.” I, too, saw an osteopath and had acupuncture. This certainly did help my spinal alignment that was truly messed up last year after I missed a step and tumbled head over heels down the staircase. I don’t do steps any more. Being blind..and deaf… is just difficult. But in the stroller I am safe. And out, Mom leads me with the leash.

The other day we crossed paths with Athos, my English sheepdog friend whom I had not seen for about a year. He understood immediately: Mom took a long time to explain the stroller to Athos’ Dad... I didn’t think she needed to go into such detail but she kept chatting. Athos said, “Now that you are taking long walks again, maybe we’ll see more of you.”I agreed and added that being out in the sun and sea air is such a pleasure, so what if we make heads turn as we stroll by.Athos panted once and said, “Lady Ria, you don’t need a stroller to make heads turn.” La vie est belle!

In my mid-twenties, I was travelling and inspired to paint for the first time. In my backpack I carried a small set of Gouache (opaque watercolor), a small water carrier and a black indelible marker. Sitting in cafes, I drew out what was in front of me and colored in the lines. The first four paintings I did back then are on my wall no matter where I live. I LOVE them.Why?

BECAUSE SOMETHING CAME OUT OF ME WHEN I KNEW NOTHING. I’D NEVER TRIED TO PAINT BEFORE. I FELT COURAGEOUS TO TRY - EVEN SLAP HAPPY SILLY.

Plus, after all those years of wanting to draw but not knowing how, I finally decided to go for it.Now, after painting for 20 years, there are some paint-ings that stand out. Those that do are usually FIRSTS. A first at SOMETHING:The first time I . . .. . . held a big brush and dipped it into a cup of paint.. . . got small and detailed.. . . went wild and painted something outrageous like

a penis.. . . felt really vulnerable as a painful memory came

forward.. . . sold a painting (that I forgot to take a photo of

and want back.)

IT’S THE FIRSTS IN LIFE WE REMEMBER MOST BE-CAUSE THEY TRANSFORMED SOMETHING IN US.We woke up.

So what is it that you could do NOW, this WEEK, this MONTH—that is a FIRST?Not for any reason besides the fact that it IS a first?

Not for any other intention except DOING a first?And doing SOMETHING NEW for the sheer hell of it?How might you put yourself out there? What new person might you connect with? What new class or hobby might you try out? What about that dream of always wanting to learn to FLY?

In order to get the most from it, here are some tips:• Choose something no matter how big or small or

seemingly insignificant.• Don’t tell ANYONE about it. (Or maybe just 1 or 2

people.)• Don’t make it a big deal. Even to yourself. Keep it

cool.• Set a time and date or just do it RIGHT NOW. When you do it—don’t THINK anything about it. Don’t give a shit. It’s just an experiment for the sake of it.

THEN,Still keep it a secret—don’t share with anyone yet. Keep it to yourself to explore the experience. How did it feel? Regardless of the result, don’t care.

Sometimes we get that gift of WOW, but don’t worry if you don’t. I seriously thought those first paintings were ICK when I painted them. But now I love them for what they represent.If it feels good, keep going but don’t expect the next time you do it to feel like a FIRST. There’s always a letdown after a high, like we experienced with our first kiss.

If you continue with the unfolding process, you’ll have another moment with pop-factor. But don’t worry about that now.

When I was a kid, I wanted to eat my crayons. Not for any other reason than I loved all the colors and didn’t know what else to do with them.

Covering the Sun With One’s Hand

Paulo Coelho, writer of The Alchemist. This book has inspired a devoted following around the world. This story is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. But what starts out as a journey to fi nd worldly goods turns into a discovery of the treasure found within.

have the ideal conditions for concentrating on that which is

disciple to place his hand over his face, in order to hide

completely cover the power, light and majesty of the great

sun. In the same way, the small problems manage to give

you the excuse you need in order to hinder your progress

As if you do not have enough problems with the processionary plague in the pine trees, which is aff ecting us this year with much more intensity than other years because of the mild temperatures, and who are poisoning our animals... Since the end of February we have seen the fi rst ticks hooked onto our dogs and cats... and this will continue till late September...

We must remember that besides the pruritic nuisance to our animals and the blood sucking discomfort (which even can produce severe anemia in infected animals), these mites can transmit several diseases, to both dogs, cats and even to people (several clients have asked us for information after having been bitten or seen the parasite hooked on their skin… above all in children).

Among these tick-borne diseases some are even fatal if they are not diagnosed or treated in time.In our area the important ones are:• Ehrlichiosis and other ricketsiosis• Borreliosis (or Lyme disease)• Mycoplasmosis• Babesiosis• Hepatozoonosis• Hemobartonellosis

When we know that each female tick lays more than 5000 eggs, we know that prevention is the best weapon to combat them.

HOW CAN WE DO THAT ?• By fumigating corners, land or abandoned plots, farm

work, remove weeds, by controlling and managing abandoned or stray animals... all have a role at this time of the year.

• As what you can do yourself: put collars on, pipettes, anti-ticks; anti parasitic injections and oral medi-cations are considered essential from now until late autumn.

• Even making periodically a simple blood test for early detection of diseases such as Ehrlichiosis and Lyme disease.

AM I TRUSTING MY INTUITION… OR MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE?IT’S THE QUESTION THAT HAD BEEN GNAWING AT ME FOR SOME TIME.

It was over fifteen years ago, and I was a couple years out of college, running a successful web business. I’d moved into a great apartment in Manhattan, my very own bachelor’s pad, and had been offered a spot in a prime office in midtown Manhattan.

THINGS WERE GOING REALLY WELL. OR WERE THEY?

Business was doing really well. Clients loved my work. Deep down, though, I felt unsettled. I wasn’t sleeping well. My health and relationships were suffering.

I spent my days, nights and weekends doing work I enjoyed. Yet I often felt like something just wasn’t right.

“It” – this success I was having – was supposed to feel great. It didn’t.As weeks turned into months, things only got worse…

I finally admitted to myself that my success hadn’t resulted from following my intuition. Instead, I had stumbled into opportunities and took them without really asking myself if it was something I wanted to do, if I was really following my soul’s calling.

I won’t lie. That “aha!” moment was tough. It meant that I had to make big changes—changes that would be risky, maybe even stupid.

Finally, though, enough was enough.

One day I walked away from my prime office space, as well as my largest (and most toxic) client, and into the unknown.

It was liberating, but only briefly. Mostly, I was terrified. My whole life seemed to be falling apart.

Worst of all, part of me felt like I couldn’t trust myself. If I had gone down this wrong path before, how did I know that I was making the right decision now?On that deeper level I hadn’t wanted to admit, I’d known that my life was out of alignment with my intuition and my heart. Instead of listening, I’d tried to pretend that my outer success was proof of my inner truth.

Now a lot happened between that choice to walk away and where I am today, a longer story for another day, but fast-forward fifteen years, my life looks very different. I’m more successful than ever, but this time around, my success is the actual result of listening to my intuition.I now spend my days doing work that changes people’s lives. It feels incredible, and the fulfillment I feel is reflected throughout my entire life.

Looking back on those early years, I can clearly see the signs telling me that my early success was out of synch with my intuition. Given how many of us face this issue at different times in our lives, I wanted to share those telling signs.

Here they are:

Your gut is screaming at youI can no longer count the number of people I’ve worked with over the past fifteen years who experience persistent clenching and/or discomfort in their gut. All those years ago, I, too, was walking around with a clenched gut. As you notice how you’re interacting with your intuition, remember to be gentle with yourself. I can say from experience that it can be really hard to notice toxic parts of your life when you’re immersed in them everyday.

While making sudden, drastic changes isn’t always possible or even wise, by using tapping, you can gain clarity and begin moving your life into closer alignment with what your intuition really is telling you.

BASIC TAPPING SEQUENCE FOR ANXIETYAs discussed, Tapping can be used for everything – try it on everything! In this example, we’ll focus on general anxiety.Try it now with this initial sequence. Here’s how a basic Tapping sequence works:

• Identify the problem you want to focus on. It can be general anxiety, or it can be a specific situation or issue which causes you to feel anxious.

• Consider the problem or situation. How do you feel about it right now? Rate the intensity level of your anxiety, with zero being the lowest level of anxiety and ten being the highest.

• Compose your set up statement. Your set up statement should acknowledge the problem you want to deal with, then follow it with an unconditional affirmation of yourself as a person.

PERFORM THE SET UPWith four fingers on one hand, tap the Karate Chop point on your other hand. The Karate Chop point is on the outer edge of the hand, on the opposite side from the thumb.Repeat the set up statement three times aloud, while simultaneously tapping the Karate Chop point. Now take a deep breath!Get ready to begin tapping! Here are some tips to help you achieve the right technique.

• You should use a firm but gentle pressure, as if you were drumming on the side of your desk or testing a melon for ripeness.

• You can use all four fingers, or just the first two (the index and middle fingers). Four fingers are generally used on the top of the head, the collarbone, under the arm… wider areas. On sensitive areas, like around the eyes, you can use just two.

• Tap with your fingertips, not your fingernails. The sound will be round and mellow.

• The tapping order begins at the top and works down. You can end by returning to the top of the head, to complete the loop. Now, tap 5-7 times each on the remaining eight points in the following sequence.

Whenever we are experiencing discontentment or unhappiness, there is inevitably something that we are resisting. All suffering is caused by non-acceptance of what is. It may be a thought, a feeling, an emotion or a situation. You suffer when you want things to be different from how they are. What you resist persists.

Most of the time, it is NOT the experience itself that causes us pain and suffering, rather the resistance TO the experience. How you label the experience determines how you feel.

We are conditioned from a young age to categorize our experiences into good and bad, right and wrong, desirable and undesirable.

Lets say you are feeling down. The mind will unconsciously label the feeling as “bad.”

In the absence of labeling, it is simply a feeling ...it may be uncomfortable but it is not a problem in itself.

THERE IS NOTHING “WRONG” WITH FEELING SAD ... UNLESS THE MIND SAYS SO.

THE TYPICAL COMMENTARY MAY BE:

“What is wrong with me?, I wish I didn’t feel like this, When is it going to go away?” How to be happy when we are battling against what is already there?

Through habit, the mind will also latch onto something as the cause of the feeling ...the girlfriend, the job, the weather...

Who knows what the real reason is? Often feelings of being flat or down have absolutely nothing to do with us. You could be picking up on the earthquake in Japan or your neighbours having an argument.

Conscious people experience the exact same thoughts and feelings as everyone else.

THE DIFFERENCE IS THE RECOGNITION THAT:1. there is nothing ‘wrong’ with the feeling

being there.2. it is not personal... feelings simply appear

by themselves.3. all feelings come and go so why give too

much attention to whatever shows up in any particular moment?

So, the key to finding inner peace is to become aware of all you are resisting and to make the conscious choice to simple let it be as it is.

You can see how viewing your world in this way could allow an experience of continuous contentment, regardless of what you are experiencing.

Now, when you feel down, the commentary may be “Wow! This is interesting!” You feel sad but there is no problem.What You Resist Persists.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION STATES THAT ‘LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE’.

As what you resist persists, attempting to push certain experiences away only serves to draw more of the same to ourselves. Through focusing on what we don’t want, we attract more of it.

Worrying, for example, is praying for that which we don’t want.

A far better (and more peaceful) approach is to consciously offer no resistance.

Acknowledge what is there, roll out the welcome mat and know there is nothing “wrong” with it.

Be attentive to any commentary about the experience. There is no need to fix or change

anything. Wanting to fix it will create more of it. Simply seeing it is enough. Then see what happens!

If it is true that what you resist persists, the opposite is equally true... namely, that what you embrace dissolves.

Negative states persist because we give them energy and importance through giving them all of our attention. When we offer no resistance, they wither and fade away. And, even if they do remain, that is OK too!

Here’s why:When you focus on things that make you feel good, and when you focus from perspectives/beliefs that make you feel good, remember: you are harmonizing yourself with infi nite potentiality. Everything becomes possible for you.

Now, when you focus specifi cally on what you want, this might raise your frequency, harmonizing your individual vibration with that of the Universe’s underlying truths, and thus make you feel good. However, when you focus on HAVING what you want (needing it to be in your life), oftentimes you inevitably focus on the apparent lack of what it is you want being in your life right now.

So, for many people, focusing on what they want to HAVE, is actually detrimental to their harmonization process because they will feel bad by thinking that they are presently LACKING the HAVING of what they want. Thinking more about what they want can sometimes shift their vibration into excitement, as long as they can feel the probability of it entering their life not too far down the line, but often, it simply reminds them of their perceived fact that “it’s not here yet.” This negative-feedback loop is very important to un-derstand before you continue to “visualize your desired realities.”

Focus on Abundance, Forget about Lack

Got it? You have to focus on abundance--any kind of abundance--in order to harmonize with the Infi nite po-tential and positively utilize the Law of Attraction.

Thinking about what you want can either feel great, or terrible, depending on whether you focus on it from the perspective of the abundance of it and the possibility and probability of it streaming into your life--and the peace you experience right now in simply enjoying the fullness of the feeling of what you are visualizing and desiring--or whether you are thinking about what you desire from the point of view of believing it is lacking, diffi cult or impossible to achieve, etc.

Thus, when an untrained or unseasoned practitioner of the Law of Attraction focuses on what they desire, it can often make them feel worse and hinder their deliberate use of the Law of Attraction by focusing through the belief that what they want is not theirs yet.

the ability to see that, even when something is not physically present, that does not mean it is lacking from your life. Those adepts will be able to focus upon what they desire, even while they don’t have any physical evidence of it yet in their present circumstances, and continue to harmonize into higher and higher frequencies, because they are still perceiving the abundance of what they desire. They perceive no lack, they think no lack, they feel no lack.

However, for those of you new to the science of the Law of Attraction, or to my overall teachings in general, it will be harder to think of all the wondrous and epic realities you desire in your future, while not feeling the sour note of perceiving the lack of it now.

So for you, until you get the chance to study in greater depth and discover that nothing is ever lacking from existence; until you learn to truly enjoy the vibration of things that are not yet physically manifest, I recommend you focus less on visualizing or thinking of the specifi c things that you want, and fi rst practice on focusing on abundance and goodness and support and love in general. This way, you will start to experience what it’s like to vibrate and harmonize at higher and higher frequencies.

When you are resonating at/with higher frequencies, you will start to get insights and thoughts and impulses that are representative of those higher frequencies that you did not have access to before. Just as you hear the songs playing through your radio that correspond to the frequency you are tuned into, so too, you will never have access to brilliance if you are de-harmonized with the foundational truths of Creation.

So fi rst things fi rst: learn to focus predominantly on anything--ANYTHING--that makes you feel holistically good, abundant, free, powerful, peaceful and loving.

Also, learn to focus on anything that you seemingly have to focus on (even when you don’t want to focus on it), IN A WAY that feels best to you when you focus on it.

For example, you might have to focus on doing the laundry. This might not be your most exciting focal point, but you can always change the WAY you focus on it, so that it starts to include more and more perspectives that recognize the abundance and

goodness of a particular reality. You can get to the point where you lose touch with perceiving a lack of excitement, goodness or abundance altogether - even while you are doing things that previously you would have perceived as causing you lack, and therefore would have de-harmonized you with the Universe.

Bottomline: Harmonize! Feel amazing. Master your focus and the way you look at things. Then, you will start to see amazing results pop up, because you are LITERALLY aff ecting the quantum confi gurations that determine the reality you will perceive/receive.

Hi! I am the proud owner of 2 rescue dogs ‘Pepper’ (the little gremlin) and ‘Cobus’ (the silly big one). Pepper came to our house when she was only 3 weeks old, so we raised her like a baby with the bottle, with the sleepless nights included. She was handed out on the street by a stranger to our youngest son. 3 seconds of being ‘angry’ at our son and right away she stole our heart. She has the most uncomplicated character and is the best teacher of free spirit that I have ever encountered.The big one was found in the trash along the road by my other son. Together with 2 of her sisters, who didn’t survive. They were 5 months at that time. She is 2,5 years now, but still a puppy; I guess she is still trying to

keep up with her lost puppyhood. She has the most friendly heart I have ever seen in a dog; although she was in a rotten state and very scared in the beginning, she has never ever tried to do anything wrong and only wants to please us as much as she is capable of. I can keep on bragging for 2 more pages how wonderful my rescues are... Needless to say I feel blessed with these 2 ‘tramps’, but also are very happy that I only have 2 sons...
