Honor Roll Certificates - Overview1. CREATE your honor roll certificate template

a) Create certificate in Microsoft Word using “Actions Tab Keywords”b) If any “action tab keywords” are underlined in red because Word thinks they are misspellet simply right click

on the word and select “Add to Dictionary”. Otherwise the spellchecker will prevent the merge from working correctly

c) Save as “xml”

2. FIND your studentsa) Browse to Home>My Home>Actions and select “Create Document”b) Under “Add Search Criteria” select “Honor Roll”c) Set the applicable building, level, year, marking period, and honor roll type

3. UPLOAD your honor roll certificatea) Select “Choose File” and browse to your Word documentb) Make sure to select “Letter Format” and “Insert Page/Document Break”c) Also, where it says “Who will these be sent to” you’ll want to select “Primary Contact Only – 1 per student” if

you want only one certificate per student

4. MERGE the certificate with the Schooltool dataa) Simply click “Merge” and you can then save and/or print your certificates from Microsoft Word

a) Browse to Home>My Home>Actions and select “Create Document”

b) Under “Add Search Criteria” select “Honor Roll”

c) Set the applicable building, level, year, marking period, and honor roll type

a) In Word go to Mailings>Labels & choose applicable label templateb) Type in your “action tab keywords” (make sure misspellet words are added to the dictionary)c) Select “full page” and “new document”d) Change all labels (except 1st one) to have only the keyword [%Label%]e) Save as “xml”

2. FIND your studentsa) Browse to Home>My Home>Actions and select “Create Document”b) Under “Add Search Criteria” select the applicable search criteria (ex. use “enrollment” to find all students in a

particular building)

3. UPLOAD your mailing label templatea) Select “Choose File” and browse to your Word documentb) Make sure to select “Label Format”c) Under “Who will these be sent to” select what is most applicable for your situation
