2010 INI TIAL OBSERVATION

In talking with clients, referral sources and people involved in the capital markets, certaintrends are appearing:

l Clients are not positive about 2010 or top line growth.l Businesses are not willing to hire until a proven recovery is apparent.l The economic recovery may be driven from outside the United States (Brazil, India,

China, etc.) vs. domestically driven.l Strong balance sheets have access to capital – always have, always will. You must

manage your balance sheets.

The key for business is to be prepared w hen the economy turns. You must have access totimely quality information. Ask yourself these three question s:

1. How good is the information you generate and how does it get to the top?2. Who is really in charge of decisions? Do they get the information they need?3. How do you take the information and do something with it?

Risk management is crucial:

1. Review suppliers for vulnerability.2. Manage your upside risk and not just your downside risk. Future profit will come from

new products, services and markets. Make sure you are in the game.

Talent, talent and more talent:

1. The market is full of great talent. It takes work to find it.2. Keep YOUR great talent.3. Identify holes in your organization that require talent and fill those needs now vs. when

the market turns.

We are alw ays ready to discuss these points and any observations you have that youwould like feedback on. Please reach out to your SingerLewak p artner, manager or myself at any time.
