Letter from the Board of DirectorsREMINDER: Please be advised that due

to the increasing costs associ-ated with printing and mailing our Newsletter, we will be re-ducing the number of mailings to two (2) issues a year effec-tive 2014. We will have limited copies of the Newsletter avail-able at our office. As always, all issues of the Newsletter will continue to be posted on our website www.holidaypocono.com. We are once again remind-ing everyone that in accor-dance with our Rules and Reg-ulations, there is no parking on the roads at any time!

DIVISION -D PARKING1 - Parking of vehicles will

be restricted to the designated parking areas at the commu-nity building and the lakes, or individual driveways.

2 - There shall be no parking on the roads at any time.

There have been numerous complaints received at the of-fice about people speeding throughout the community. There are elderly residents and young children walking, rid-ing bikes, and playing on their properties which are near to the roads. With winter upon us there will be inclement weather that affects road conditions.

We urge everyone driving in our community to exercise cau-tion and to please obey the 20 MPH Speed Limit.

Many members of our com-munity have called our office to advise you have scrap metal that you want to donate to the Association. If you want to do-nate scrap metal to us, please call our office (570-722-9464) and we will make immediate arrangements with you to pick up your donations. We thank you for your generosity.

Please also keep in mind that the Board of Directors meets monthly on the 3rd Friday of each month. You are more than welcome to attend a monthly meeting. If you have any sug-gestions for the Board, please put them in writing and address them to the office at P.O. Box 57, Albrightsville, PA. 18210. We look forward to hearing from you.

Badges Must Be WornIf you have already paid your

2014 assessments in full and have not received your 2014 badges, please stop by the of-fice to obtain them.

Badges are given to home-owners only. They must be picked up in person and you will be asked to provide identi-fication in order to obtain them.

If you are authorizing some-one else to pick up your badges, you must put this in writing to our office each year and include your name, your property address and who specifically it is that is autho-rized to pick up your badges on your behalf! The individual that you authorize to pick up your

badges must provide a photo id at the office in order to obtain them.

Badges will not be issued un-less you are in good standing and your account balance is at zero.

Don’t forget, badges must be worn at all Holiday Pocono functions and must be worn when using the fishing and swimming lakes, pavilions, and rifle range.

Our beaches, pavilions, and rifle range are patrolled. Failure to wear the appropriate Holi-day Pocono badge may result in you being escorted from the premises.

Thank you to EVERYONE who contributed in every way for the Pork and Sauerkraut Benefit that was held for the Barberio family. It is so wonder-ful to see how everyone came together to help raise money for the family and Bruce has asked me to convey how very appreciative he is of all of the efforts of everyone who gave so generously to help his family.

Holiday Pocono worked in conjunction with the Pocono Tap House to raise funds for the Barberio family and we gratefully acknowledge Chuck Engler, Mike Hodges, Ryan Gilliar, and Doug Murphy for all they did for their Fundraising efforts.

Thank you to those of you who have donated to our An-nual Toy’s For Tot’s Campaign. Four cartons of Toys, one huge brimming bag of Toys, and a Bi-cycle were picked up on Tues-day December 10th and the US Marine Corp extends their deepest gratitude to all that gave so generously.

NOTE: We will be collecting Toys at our Office throughout all of 2014!

Thank you to everyone who so generously donated food for our local Food Pantries. Eight cartons of food were delivered

to St. Peter the Fisherman’s and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church food pantries for Thanksgiving.

Holiday Pocono Gate Card Policy

Gate cards are issued to homeowners and lot owners only and must be picked up in person. You will be asked to provide photo identification at the office when obtaining all gate cards.

It is the responsibility of homeowners who are renting their properties to provide gate cards to their renters. The of-fice will not provide gate cards to renters under any circum-stances.

When selling your home, it is the responsibility of the seller to turn over all gate cards to the new owner(s). Before do-ing so, please notify the office so we can update our system to reflect the proper owner of the gate card(s). New owners are urged to notify the office

when you receive gate cards so we can ensure our system is updated accordingly. Failure to do so could result in your gate cards being terminated.

Per the board of directors as of April 1989 and as published in the April 1989 newsletter: “homeowners will receive two (2) cards. Lot owners will re-ceive one (1) card regardless of the number of homes/lots owned. There is a limit of seven (7) cards per homeowner and three (3) cards per lot owner. Distribution of the cards is the same as voting under the by-laws. That is homes/lots under same ownership.”

There is a $25 charge for additional/replacement gate cards.

Become a C.E.R.T. MemberThe Holiday Pocono Com-

munity Emergency Response Team is looking for new mem-bers. If you care about your community and like to help people, you should consider joining the team.

In the event of emergencies or disasters, CERT works along with First Responders assisting when there -is a need. You will learn disaster preparedness, light search and rescue, practice diagnos-ing and treating airway ob-

struction, bleeding, and shock by using simple triage and rapid treatment techniques. You will learn to evaluate pa-tients by doing a head to toe assessment and to establish a medical treatment area, as well as learn basic first aid.

There are many ways that team members can help out such as traffic control, food, water and blanket distribution, note taking, and basically just lending a helping hand. You will be asked to help out where

you feel you can. There are no demands.

We would like to hold train-ing and refresher classes right here in Holiday Pocono. We need to have at least 20 peo-ple commit to these classes in order to have trainers from Carbon County come to us instead of trainees having to travel to Nesquehoning.

This is a fun and rewarding experience! Please consider joining this very important as-set to our community.

Holiday Pocono Civic Associa-tion, Inc. would like to take this opportunity to inform all prop-erty owners in Holiday Pocono of our Rental and Building Pol-icies.

RENTALAs a Planned Residential

Development, our Deed Cov-enants, By-Laws and Kidder Township Zoning Ordinances do not permit short term or weekend transient type rent-als, however, we do permit (with a lease) long-term single-family/household type rentals for residential purposes only.

The homeowner or his rep-resentative (with written per-mission from the homeowner) must register his tenant with our office and supply our office with the terms of the lease. The tenant must be supplied with a copy of our By-Laws and Rules and Regulations by the homeowner. Tenants are not entitled to the use of our amenities without proper authorization from Holiday Pocono. The homeowner is responsible for the conduct of his/her tenant and will be liable for all fees and penalties that may occur.

If you are advertising and renting your home in a short term or weekend transient type manner you are violating your Deed restrictions and, effec-tive January 1, 2011, you may be fined, and/or subject to further legal action for each day the violation occurs.

EXISTING AND NEW CON-STRUCTION BUILDING

PRIOR TO ANY WORK BE-ING DONE, the property owner must submit to Holiday Pocono copies of all permits, site plans

and any other requested docu-ments or information related to the project and receive writ-ten approval. If approved, a HPCA NO COST PERMIT will be issued. Please be advised that HPCA may have more stringent conditions than Kid-der Township.

Construction activities such as driveways, black top, stor-age sheds, tree removal, re-taining walls, and any project that will increase the impervi-ous area of the property or im-pede stormwater controls must have a Kidder Township and a HPCA permit to begin. All new construction in the hydric soils areas must have wetland de-lineation even if it has perked.
