Marie Skłodowska-Curie: a mobile researcher

Marie Sklodowska-Curie (1867-1934) moved from Poland to France in1891. She was convinced that Science is essentially international. She wasthe first woman to be awarded 2 Nobel Prizes in two different fields:Physics (1903) and Chemistry (1911).

IFs are for «ExperiencedResearchers» (ER)

in possession of a PhD or at least 4 years of researchexperience (FTE)

Full-Time Equivalent Research Experience is measured from the date when a researcher obtained the degree

entitling him/her to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the

country in which the researcher is recruited.

The ER must have had a career break in research, i.e. they were not active in research for a continuous period of at least 12 months within the 18 months immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals (i.e. between March 10, 2019 and September 9, 2020)

Ø Reintegration (RI)

The researcher must 1) be a national or long-term resident of an EU MS or AC AND 2) move or have moved directly from a “third country” (TC) to the EU MS or AC where the host institution (“beneficiary”) is located.

Ø Society & Enterprises (SE)

The host institution must be an entity from the non-academic sector (Definitions).

Ø Proposals are submitted jointly by the applicantand the supervisor at the Host institution.

Ø The Host institution (called “Beneficiary”) is the legal entity that signs the Grant Agreement (GA = contract) and has the complete responsibility for the proper implementation of the action (project).

Ø The host contributes directly to the implementation of the research, transfer of knowledge and training activities by recruiting, hosting, and training, as well as supervising the MSC funded researcher.
