Aluminium bi-folding doors and sliding door systems have rapidly grown in popularity over the past ten years. BSD Scotland are focused on sustainable sourced aluminium and therefore all our production use recycled aluminium for the window and door systems on o�er. Remarkably aluminium is by far the most recycled material in manufacturing, and an astonishing 75% of all aluminium sourced in the 1880’s is still in use today.

When choosing a door or window system, frame strength is an important factor to consider. BSD use aluminium pro�les from some of the industries leading suppliers namely Seniors, Reynears and Smart each of which o�er di�erent pro�le ranges to acheive a huge variety of designs, styles and performance.

All of our door systems are thermally e�cient ensuring heat is retained. Our aluminium frames have a thermal break manufactured internally and all of our systems have a variety of glazing options available with triple glazed systems able to provide an overall system u-value of 0.93 W/m²K. This ultra low u-value is acheived with our PURe range of systems which incorporates high insulation polyurethane foam (PUR) as an innovative thermal barrier.

1 High Security Multi-point LockingThe pedestrian tra�c doors allow for easy outside access without having to open all the doors and as a result need to be highly secure. Our tra�c doors are �tted with the high security PAS 24 or Secure by Design approved multipoint locking systems as standard.The locking mechanism is operated by a lever handle and has a total of 5 locking points with deep through hook locks engaging into the outer frame. For double pedestrian tra�c doo rs consisting of a master and a slave door, the master door has the locking described above and locks into keeps situated on the slave door and the slave door has additional shoot bolt locking system to the top and bottom operated by an independent handle.

High Security Superior Locking CylinderThe weakest point of a door system is often considered to be the locking cylinder. To reduce the chance of a security breach we use high security superior locking cylinders as part of our standard door system. They are manufactured in accordance with British standard BS EN 1303:2005, TS007 and BSI certi�cated. Giving you added peace of mind, for no additional cost.

Intermediate handles & heavy Duty Vertical Shoot BoltsOur door systems incorporate heavy duty shoot bolts to secure the door at the top and bottom of each intermediate panels. Each set of shoot bolts is operated by the individual door handles specially designed to provide a tight �t giving maximum compression for increased weather performance and are chamfered for smooth easy engagement when securing the panels into the outer frame.They �rmly secure the doors in place, to create a solid barrier to protect against forced entry.

Track & Roller GuideThe track and roller assemblies have a dedicated guide that runs inside the channel of th e outer frame, at the top and bottom of the doors. This guide not only gives the doors additional strength and stability but also provides anti-lift security preventing the folding panels from being forced or levered o� the track. This guide system has been cleverly designed to protect you against forced entry and help to keep the doors stable and running smoothly.

SafetyWe also make use of specially designed safety features including �nger safe gaskets to prevent little �ngers from getting trapped, special threshold designs which are ideal for disabled access, and strong magnetic keeps which hold the doors in place, preventing them from slamming.

High Security GlazingThe glass used within for our Bi-folding Door systems is toughened and laminated safety and security glass. The sealed units are then internally glazed with a high security glazing bead for added security and ease of installation. As the sealed units are installed internally they can only be removed from inside the property.
