Students will summarize main events of the Revolutionary War by using nonlinguistic representation in Kidspiration.

Students will later have to retell the main events using the visual cues they chose to use.

Genre Classification

Students will gather information to show differences and similarities of various literary genres and organize this information using Word Processing Strategies via Microsoft Word.

Many times students use Kidspiration, using Microsoft Word will give them experience using a more widely used program.

Students will understand that a summary is not repetitive, but rather is concise and includes all main events.

Students will demonstrate knowledge through classroom analyzing and discussion using Auto Summarize.

Tornado Safety

Students will use a variety of resources to create a multimedia project.

Students will find information about how tornados form, what effects that can have on the environment, find a true-life tornado story, and how to stay safe during a tornado.

Students will then put this information into a script that should mimic a news broadcast.

Students will tape their “broadcasts” and present to the class.
