• Practice Passage: “Reel Time: How the Movies Portray History” page 357-358 in workbook.
• Read/discuss pages 78-79.
• Listen to “Barrio Boy” and follow along on pages 80-85 in your literature text book.
Tuesday Warm-Up
• Use the glossary in your literature book to define the following words:– epidemic– flushed– evidently
Tuesday Warm-Up
• List 5 nouns and 5 verbs from the “word master” list.

• Spelling Bee Practice
• Independent Reading Time
Wednesday Warm-Up
Write a paragraph describing a beautiful fall day. Use sensory details and lots of describing words.
Wednesday, November 13
• Warm-Up/Housekeeping/Roll Call
• Visit the Book Fair in the library!
• Listen to “A Day’s Wait” by Ernest Hemingway and follow along on pages 86-90 in your literature text book.
Thursday Warm-Up
• Brainstorm a list of at least 5 phrases that describe a special dog. This could be “fiction” or “nonfiction” and will be used later in class!
Thursday November 14
• Warm-Up/Housekeeping/Roll Call• Compare fiction and nonfiction by completing the
chart on workbook page 33.• Finish “My Life in Dog Years” by Gary Paulsen.• Write the first draft of a “tribute” to a special dog
in your life. You can write narrative non-fiction (like Gary Paulsen does) or fiction. Use your warm-up as a starting point!
Friday Warm-Up
Write a list of 10 things for which you feel thankful. Alphabetize your list and be ready to share.
