Teacher gives each student a worksheet containing a crossword. She explains them that they have to read the definitions from the worksheet and try to fill in the right answer, and if they complete the crossword correctly they will discover the word from the column AB (smuggler), Appendix 1.

After the students finish the crossword, the teacher verifies the crossword with students and corrects them if necessary.

Teacher asks students if they understood the text and if necessary she explains the unknown words. Next, she tells students to do the exercise 1a from page 93, where they have to read the text again and in pairs of five, to guess the meaning of the words, then match the word with its synonym or definition from the worksheet they have received during the reading activity. Appendix 2 Students are asked next to answer True or False to the statements from exercise 1b from page 93. (1T, 2T, 3F, 4T, 5T, 6F)
Teacher writes the example from exercise 3, page 93 (smuggle-smuggling-smuggler) on the blackboard. Students are asked to explain the meaning of the three words and the difference between them as parts of the speech.

Based on the students conclusions a general rule for word formation is made: We can form verbal nouns by adding – ing to the verb, verbal nouns refer to the activity; while nouns formed by adding –er/-or refer to the person performing the activity. Teacher gives the example on the blackboard (paint – painting - painter) and asks students to do the same thing for the rest of the words from exercise 3 a, page 93. Students work individually to fill in the chart on their worksheet. Appendix 3 The teacher checks if the students completed the chart correctly. Students are asked to do exercise 4 from page 93 from their textbook. Answers are checked with the class: 1).paintings, 2).cooker, 3).heating, 4).driver, 5).cooking, 6).singing, acting, 7).builder, 8).heater. In order to get feedback from students about
