Day 1 : Listening and Speaking
Theme : World of Stories
Topic : Stories
Learning Standard : 1.1.2 Able to listen to and enjoy stories.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able understand and enjoy the story.
Time : 9.00 – 10.00 a.m
Teaching Aids : Powerpoint consisting set of pictures of the story, Worksheets

Steps:
Pre- Listening
1. Teacher introduces new vocabularies related to the story.2. Teacher shows pictures of the story and pupils describe the pictures.
While-Listening
1. Pupils listen to the story that the teacher tells.2. Pupils match the sentence parts based on the story heard.3. Teacher retells the story and pupils checked the answers.
Post-Listening
1. Pupils are given time to arrange the pictures according to the story.2. Pupils present the story with actions
The crow and the water pitcher
Long ago, there lived a crow in a jungle. Once, he was wondering in search of water to quench
his thirst. At last, he flew over a village. There he saw a pitcher lying in front of a house. There was
some water in it. The crow tried to reach the water, but couldn’t succeed. The water level was too low
in the pitcher. The crow began to think of some practicable device and finally came up with bright
idea. He looked around and found a pebble. He picked up the pebble in his beak and dropped it into
the pitcher.
The crow realized that the water level had risen a little. So he dropped more pebbles in the
pitcher till the water level was high enough for his beak to touch it. The thirsty crow then drank the
water to his heart content and flew away.
Day 2 : Reading
Theme : World of Stories
Topic : The crow and the water pitcher
Learning Standard : 2.2.2 (a) Able to read and understand phrases and sentences from:
linear texts.
2.2.3(b) Able to listen, to read and demonstrate understanding
of text by:
a) sequencing
b) predicting with guidance.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:
a) read and sequence the story
b) predict the outcome of the story.

Pre-Reading
1. Teacher recap vocabularies learnt in the previous lesson.
2. Pupils talk about the stories heard in the previous lesson.
While-Reading
1. Pupils are given the text of the story. Teacher reads the story and pupils repeat after teacher.2. Pupils are put into groups and each group is given an envelope containing ready cut pictures of the
story.3. Pupils are required to arrange the pictures in the correct order.
Post-Reading
1. In groups, pupils discuss and give the alternative ending of the story.
2. Group leader presents the alternative ending.
3. Teacher comments and gives feedback.
Example of stimulus for the alternative ending;
What will happen if the crow did not find any pebbles to put into the pitcher?

Day 3 : Writing
Theme : World of Story
Topic : The importance of water
Learning Standard : 3.2.1 Able to transfer information with guidance to complete :(b) non-linear text.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to transfer information from picture to a mind map.
Time : 9.00 – 10.00 a.m
Teaching Aids : Powerpoint, worksheet.
Cross Curricular Elements: Constructivism
Pre-Writing
1. Teacher shows pictures of people’s activities using water. (e.g drinking, washing, watering)
2. Teacher introduces verbs related to the picture.
While -Writing
1.Teacher shows a picture of water.2.Using the water as the main point, pupils list down the importance of water using a mind-map.3.Teacher writes down the key points.4.Teacher models sentences based on the key words.
Post – Writing
1.Pupils get into groups and write 4-5 sentences based on the other key points.

PRE
1. Teacher explains on the usage of the conjunctions. (so - effect from the situation ; because – reason of the situation)
2. Teacher gives example.
WHILE
1. Pupils match the sentence parts using the correct conjunctions in the substitution table.2. Pupils rewrite the sentences that they have matched.
POST
1. Pupils complete the sentences.
Example:

Day 4 : Language Arts

Topic : The lion sleeps tonight
Learning Standard : 4.1.2 Able to sing songs and recite jazz chants and poems with correct stress pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :
a) sing a song with correct stress pronunciation
Time : 9.00 am – 10.00 am ( 1 hour)
Teaching aids : Video clip, word cards
Cross curricular elements : Multiple Intelligence
Pre – Language Arts :
1.Teacher shows a video of a children song. ( e.g The lion sleeps tonight)
2.Teacher introduces the difficult words in the song. For example : mighty, darling, hush
3.Teacher teaches them the correct pronunciation.
While – Language Arts
1.Teacher shows the video again to the pupils.
2.Teacher guides pupils to sing the song.
3.Teacher makes sure that the pupils sing the songs with correct pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation. Post Language Arts
1. The pupils are divided into groups.
2. Pupils perform the song and include actions in their group performance.
