    1.2.2 Able to listen to and follow(b) simple directions

    Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:(i) talk about a slide show.

    (ii) listen to and follow the simple directions

    Steps:

    Pre-Listening

    1. Teacher shows a slide show on the places in the school

    2. Pupils name the places.

    While-Listening

    1. Teacher puts up a school plan.

    2. Pupils talk about the places in the school.

    3. Teacher gives instructions and pupils follow the instructions e.g. go straight, turn leftetc.

    4. Pupils work in pairs. Pupil A-gives directions Pupil B - points the route in the planwith a pointer as he / she listens to pupil A

    5. Pupils take turn to do the same activity.

    Post-Listening (game )

    Pupils play the game Simon Says .

    5. Pupils answer simple questions on the paragraph.

    1. Teacher takes pupils for a walk around the school.

    2. Revise the words learnt previously such as go straight, turn left and turn right.

    1. Pupils look at a map and complete a work sheet given

    2. In groups, pupils make sentences from the words learnt previously.

    3. Pupils write sentences on the board.

    4. Teacher guides pupils to write a simple paragraph from the sentences. (SharedWriting)

    Steps: (r)

    1. Teacher plays a video clip pertaining to the song New Friend Found to the pupils.

    2. Pupils read the lyrics after the teacher.

    3. Pupils sing the song ( class as a whole ).

    4. Pupils sing the song ( in groups ).

    5. Pupils use the imaginary masks created earlier

    6. Pupils dance/act out the actions according to the song played as if they were thecharacters of the masks they wear.

    1. Teacher introduces the prepositions in front of, behind and at to the pupils. .

    2. Teacher calls out a few pupils to demonstrate /show the prepositions that have beenintroduced.

    3. Teacher asks the pupils to look around the classroom and use the correct preposition

    to tell where their friends sitting position are(pupils are chosen at random)

    4. Other pupils will tell if their friends are sitting at the correct location

    5. Pupils complete a text given using the correct prepositions.
