DESCRIPTION

Ha ha! What on earth are you doing?

Let me explain...

Emotions?!?Did you know your heart is just like this balloon?

I am thinking about my emotions!

Theary had lived with her grandmother since she was very young. They were very close and they did everything together. Such as...

Cooking good food

Telling funny stories.

Even braiding Theary’s hair.

One day, before Theary headed off to school, her grandmother was feeling worse than ever.

But Theary’s grandmother was getting older and sicker...

When Theary got home from school, her beloved grandmother had died.

Don’t cry! Your grandmother is at peace now.

Theary was devastated and she cried and cried. But people tried to discourage her from crying.

Even in class, she couldn’t focus.

Theary, what’s wrong?

My grandmother passed away.

It’s OK to cry! It can help you feel better.

I think crying is better - if you need to!

So, one lady tried to stop Theary from crying, but Theary’s friend told her to go ahead and cry?

But why you do you look so miserable these days?

Oh...nothing.

Theary, don’t bottle up your feelings in your heart... There are lots of different things you can do that will help you feel better...

Drawing

PrayerTalking

Crying

ViolenceDrugs

Drinking

Gambling

But there are other ways to let your feelings out

that are not so healthy...

Thank you so much for encouraging me

The two friends went back to class.

That night Theary let her feelings out. She missed her grandmother so much!

Here. Take this balloon!

It will pop!

Get a balloon and blow a BIG breath into it for every feeling that you have experienced. Try to think of as many emotions as possible!

Discussion Questions

And if we don’t find healthy ways to let our feelings out, our heart hurts too.

It’s just like our heart. If we dont let the air out...

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain,

for the old order of things has passed away.”

ALONGSIDERS INTERNATIONAL

The deepest need of any human being is the need to be loved. As Mother Teresa said, “Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is truly the most terrible poverty.”

We equip compassionate young Christians in poor nations to walk alongside those who walk alone: to love, welcome and encourage the most vulnerable children and orphans, in their own communities.

There is a Khmer proverb, “Only a spider can repair his own web.” We believe the answers to each

nation’s brokenness particularly lie within that nation, with the

people themselves.

Join us in walking alongside those who walk alone.

Revelation 21:4

This is God’s promise for your future!
