Rationale

Profile of learners:• describe ages and language level

They are university students who are studying their first semester of law . They are in average 17 years old. Most of them have studied English in their high school and just two have not studied English in high school.

• outline linguistic and affective needs

- This group shows an average level of A1.2. Most of them a high level of proficiency for the level and just two are behind. This is their last class of the day, so they are tired, sleepy and with rush to go home early.

• explain how learners’ needs relate to aims of the lesson

-Describing their own country will raise their awareness how beautiful it is.

Students will not know how to use spelling city

Students will make diagrams through cacoo of the different landscapes with 3 adjectives for each one among these options: beautiful, busy, cold, dry, famous, green, high, hot, huge, noisy, popular

Students will see a video of “down under” by men at work.They will take notes which landscapes they could see it with their adjectives. After they saw it, they will describe the landscapes that they could see it.

Students will talk about the main landscapes in Colombia

Students will describe their country

Students will read an e-mail which describes the key landscapes in all Australia. In order to identify new vocabulary they can use their mobiles. After they read it, they will make a comprehension activity

Students will talk about the main landscapes in Colombia by cardinal points. They can use internet or their mobile devices in order to get additional information

Students will write an e-mail to an imaginary foreign friend describing their country. At the end, they will send it to the tutor in order to get his feedback. Teacher will make emphasis that students should check grammar and spelling through word applications.
