Written from Rome, circa 62 A.D.Mailman – Tychicus “Written from Rome unto the Ephesians by Tychicus” "Tychicus I sent to Ephesus" (2 Timothy "Tychicus I sent to Ephesus" (2 Timothy 4:12). As Timothy was in charge of the church in Ephesus (1 Timothy 1:3), the coming of Tychicus would set him free, so as to enable him to set off at once to rejoin Paul at Rome, as the apostle desired him (2 Timothy 4:9, 2 Timothy 4:21).[2] Hippolytus of Rome lists Tychicus as one of the seventy disciples.

“. . . for Jew and Gentile, for husband and wife, for parent and child, for master and servant. It was the mind and will of God in Paul's day; it is the voice of inspiration in our day; it is an epistle of universal appeal and application. Ephesians proclaims the application. Ephesians proclaims the supremacy of God, the glory of his gospel, the dignity and identity of the Church through which salvation is offered to man. It contains some of Paul's best writing, and is a document that deals with fundamentals, with the gospel of God in all its saving glory.” (Bruce R. McConkie, Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, Vol.2, p.489)

But we are talking about submitting to a husband who is attempting to be as Christ. Christ is the greatest king of all, as well as the greatest servant of greatest king of all, as well as the greatest servant of all. A truly great and benevolent king serves, protects, guides his kingdom. That is the point of his calling. Think of king Benjamin and King Mosiah in the Book of Mormon…
