Lesson 01

• Philemon is a resident of Colosse and a close friend of Paul’s.

• Ephesus was a metropolitan city of Asia and one where Paul spent a great deal of his ministry time.

• Colosse was a rural community some distance from Ephesus.

• The man who appears to be the pastor of the church in Colosse was Epaphras.

HE STILL CLAIMED AN AUTHORITY to PREACH to and TEACH THEM

His authority as an Apostle extended beyond those he had personally won to Christ and to those churches he had personally planted.

Someone has brought heresy into the church there and Epaphras has asked Paul for help to correct it.

HE STILL THANKS GOD for the NEWS of their FAITH

Paul was genuinely glad to hear that people were being saved that he would never see face to face on this planet.

HE STILL PRAYED for them WITHOUT CEASING

Paul said he prayed without ceasing for people he had never seen in the flesh.

HE WAS STILL CONCERNED for them to CONTINUE

First, you matter to GodIt matters to God that you have

fellowship with Him.

Second, you always impact someone

It might be your spouse or your children or someone you work with
