Dear friends and Parishioners,
Brest Cancer awareness
Every year the month of October is dedicated to the awareness of the breast
cancer that affects many women worldwide, and this program intends to
educate upon the importance of early screening. It may seems awkward for
some readers of our bulletin to have this kind of message about the breast cancer. However,
as your pastor, I strongly believe about the necessity to inform the members of our Faith
Community in how important is to take the necessaries precautions regarding breast cancer.
In the same way that all of us must be
informed and educated about the breast
cancer, we have also to pray that the scientific
community finds better resources to
overcome this illness that affects many
women, and may give to all of us the
understanding to give emotional and spiritual
support of those who are under treatment, and
to pray for those whose cancer claimed their
lives.
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
says the Lord” (Jn. 14:23)
On Matthew’s gospel (Mt. 22:34-40), Jesus
emphasizes the meaning of the commandment
of love present in the law. Instead of Jesus be
saying something new, he quotes to the
Scholars of the Law the same words present
in the Pentateuch: "You shall love the Lord,
your God, with all your heart, with all
your soul, and with all your mind.” (Dt.
6:5), and as he continues and “you shall
love your neighbor as yourself.”(Lv.
19:18).
But, what does Jesus meant with this
teaching? What does it mean love on Jesus’
view? The answer for these questions are
very simple. Jesus presents to the Scholars
of the Law and to us that to love God must
surpass any kind of pre-concept of
judgment of a person. Why? Because God
loves us unreservedly, as the scripture
says: “for he makes his sun rise on the bad
and the good, and causes rain to fall on the
just and the unjust.” (Mt. 5:45)

Sandoval who passed away on
Wednesday, October 21st, in
Colorado, and Jose Castañeda
Mariscal, a long time parishioner of
our Church Community of Saint
Paul the Apostle, who passed away
on Thursday, October 22nd.
“May their souls and the souls of
all the faithful departed through the mercy
of God rest in peace. Amen.”

Queridos amigos y feligreses,
Concienciación sobre el
cáncer de mama
Cada año en el mes de
octubre, se dedica a reflexionar sobre el
cáncer de mama que afecta a muchas
mujeres en todo el mundo, este plan de
reflexión pretende educar sobre la
importancia de la detección temprana.
Puede parecer incómodo para algunos
lectores de nuestro boletín tener este tipo de
mensaje sobre el cáncer de mama. Sin
embargo, como su párroco, creo firmemente
en la necesidad de informar a los miembros
de nuestra Comunidad de Fe sobre la
importancia de tomar las precauciones
necesarias con respecto al cáncer de mama.
De la misma forma que todas nosotros
tenemos que estar informados y educados
sobre el cáncer de mama, también tenemos
que rezar para que la comunidad científica
encuentre mejores recursos para superar esta
enfermedad que afecta a muchas mujeres, y
pueda darnos a todos la comprensión de
brindar apoyo emocional y espiritual a
aquellas que están bajo tratamiento o mismo
aquellas cuyo cáncer se cobró la vida.
“El que me ama, cumplirá mi palabra,
dice el Señor” (Juan 14:23)
En el evangelio de San Mateo (Mateo 22: 34
-40), Jesús enfatiza el significado del
mandamiento del amor, presente en la ley.
En lugar de que Jesús esté diciendo algo
nuevo, él repite a los Maestros de la Ley las
mismas palabras presentes en el Pentateuco:
"Amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu
corazón, con toda tu alma y con toda tu
mente. " (Dt. 6: 5), y como él continua:
“Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti
mismo” (Lv. 19:18).
Pero, ¿qué quiso decir Jesús con esta
enseñanza? ¿Qué significa amor desde el
punto de vista de Jesús? La respuesta a estas
preguntas es muy sencilla. Jesús les
presenta a los Maestros de la ley y a
nosotros que amar a Dios debe superar
cualquier tipo de preconcepto de juicio
de una persona. ¿Por qué? Porque Dios
nos ama sin reservas, como dice la
Escritura: “porque hace salir el sol
sobre malos y buenos, y hace llover
sobre justos e injustos”. (Mateo 5:45)

cido el jueves 22 de octubre.
“Que sus almas y las almas de todos los
fieles difuntos por la misericordia de
Dios descansen en paz. Amén.”

On November 02nd, the Church celebrates
in the memory of all the Faithfull departed,
here at Saint Paul the masses will on these
times.

From Saturday October 31st till Sunday,
November 08th, the Book of Remembrance
will be at the entrance (foyer) of the Church
that you may write the name(s) of your
loved ones already departed.
Registration for the weekend masses.
It is known that during this time of
pandemic crises, and we as the Church
Community of Saint Paul Catholic Church,
had to reconfigure the actions in our Parish
with ways as to avoid the spread of the
virus, for example: as wearing protective
face masks during mass and other religious
activities, or applying the physical distance
in the Church building. For instead, due of
COVID-19 we had to set a limit of atten-
dance for each of the masses celebrated in
the Parish, and once more, I would like to
present the limit of attendance for each
mass.

Method of selection
The method of selection should promote
unity in diversity and should offer an op-
portunity for the quieter members of the
community to be called forth so that their
advice can be received. The discernment
process is the most highly recommended
form of selection
All Saints Day
November 1st, is a day dedicated in the
Church to celebrate All Saints, when we
remember those men and women who
testified the presence of God into the life
of many others. It is also a day when we,
as members of the Church, are invited to
reflect on how we should live a life of
holiness. In this regard, I invite all the
adults, youth and children of our parish,
that on the weekend Masses (Saturday
October 31st & November 01st , to wear a
custom representing one of the Saints of
the Church.

Bible Study
What is the better way to have a Bible
study during these times of pandemic?
This is the question that is annoying me on
the last days.
If I say, let us do online! It is not everyone
who has the access to internet.
If I say, let us have face-to-face! It is not
everyone who are comfortable yet to come.
I do not know the correct answer yet,
however if you have some answer in how
we can have Bible Study, please do not

el Consejo Pastoral Parroquial
La selección de los miembros del consejo
pastoral parroquial no es un concurso, sino
una convocatoria. El concilio pastoral
modela la unidad como el Cuerpo de Cristo.
De esta manera, el consejo debe representar
la diversidad de la comunidad parroquial,
pero estar unido en la realización de la
misión de la Iglesia.
Método de selección
El método de selección debe promover la
unidad en la diversidad y debe ofrecer una
oportunidad para que los miembros más
tranquilos de la comunidad sean convocados
para recibir sus consejos. El proceso de
discernimiento es la forma de selección más
recomendada
Todos los Santos
El 1 de noviembre es el día dedicado en la
Iglesia a celebrar Todos los Santos, cuando
recordamos a aquellos hombres y mujeres
que testificaron la presencia de Dios en la
vida de muchos otros. También es un día en
el que se invita a toda la Iglesia a reflexionar
sobre cómo debemos vivir una vida de
santidad. En este sentido, invito a todos los
adultos, jóvenes y niños de nuestra
parroquia, que el domingo 1 de noviembre,
a vestir una costumbre que representa a uno
de los Santos de la Iglesia.

Estudio Bíblico
¿Cuál es la mejor manera de tener un
estudio bíblico durante estos tiempos de
pandemia?
Esta es la pregunta que me está molestando
en los últimos días.
Si digo, ¡hagámoslo online! No todo el
mundo tiene acceso a Internet.
Si digo, ¡tengamos cara a cara! No son
todos los que se sienten cómodos por venir.
Todavía no sé la respuesta correcta, sin
embargo, si tiene alguna respuesta sobre
cómo podemos tener un estudio bíblico, no
dude en enviarnos un correo electrónico.
02 de noviembre – Los Fieles Difuntos
EL día 2 de noviembre, se dedica a celebrar
la memoria de todos los fieles difuntos.
Así, para hacer memoria de nuestros seres
queridos que ya se encuentran en la
presencia de Dios, aquí en la Iglesia de San
Pablo Apóstol, tendremos la celebración de
la misa en estos horarios:
Misa en inglés - 9:00 AM
Misa en español - 7:00 PM
El libro de la Memoria - Las intenciones
de todos los fieles difuntos
De sábado, Octubre 31 hasta el domingo,
Noviembre 08, el Libro de la Memoria
estará en la entrada de la Iglesia, para se
pueda escribir los nombres de sus seres queri-
dos ya fallecidos.
Registraciones para las misas de fin de se-
mana.
Ya se sabe que durante este tiempo de crisis
pandémica, y nosotros como Comunidad de la
Iglesia Católica San Pablo, tuvimos que re-
configurar las acciones en nuestra Parroquia
con formas de evitar la propagación del virus,
por ejemplo: usar las máscaras de protección
durante la misa u otras actividades religiosas,
la aplicación de la distancia física. En cambio,
debido a COVID-19 tuvimos que establecer
un límite de asistencia para cada una de las
misas de nuestra parroquia, y una vez más, me
gustaría presentar el límite de asistencia para
las misas en la Iglesia de San Pablo.
