Staff Changes On Wednesday 31 October we farewell Mrs Attard as she begins her maternity leave in preparation for the birth of her new baby towards the end of the year. We wish her and the family all the best during this happy time. Ms Mills will work on 5AM full time until the end of the year. School Achievements Congratulations to our Stage 2 Dancesport students who performed yesterday. They did a great job. Thank you to Mrs Devine who has worked hard with these students all year. It was also nice to see a group of 35 Stage 3 students attend the Invictus Games with Mrs Longhurst and Ms Mills on Thursday. This wonderful opportunity gave our students the opportunity to experience and appreciate life as an athlete. Road Safety on Fairway’s Avenue The ‘Kiss and Ride’ zone is simply an area on Fairway’s Avenue to drop off and pick up students. You should stop in the area, stay in your car, leave your engine running, and ensure that your child safely exits or enters on the kerb side of the car, then move off. Under no circumstances should you get out of your car and leave it parked in this zone. Fol-lowing these basic road rules helps make this zone a safer place for all. Please be aware that Council Rangers regularly patrol the area. 2018 Presentation Assembly- Wednesday 12 December Our 2018 presentation assembly will be held at the Leonay Golf Club on Wednesday 12 December commencing at approximately 9.30am. During the year our fortnightly assemblies provide an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of all students. At this assembly, only a select number of prestigious class awards are presented to recognise those students who have performed at the highest of standards throughout the year. Please note this date in your diary. We look forward to your attendance. Next Assembly Next assembly – Friday 2 November. KD are performing. Parents/caregivers are welcome. Dear Parent/Guardian, We will be holding the School Colour-Fun Run as a major fundraising event this year on 23rd November 2018! We’re doing it to raise much needed money for sporting equipment, technology and school re-sources. About the Program The School Colour Fun-Run promotes healthy and active lifestyles while helping us raise funds! It’s all about participation, with students treated to a great day as a reward for their fundraising efforts. Family support is key to our fundraising success and we encourage everyone to get involved. How Does My Child Fundraise? Firstly, go to schoolfundraising.com.au and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fund-raising revolves around this page. Once you have completed this, read through your Sponsorship Form, which has instructions on how to raise money and order prizes. Students who raise just $10 will receive a reward for their effort. The more they raise, the better their re-ward – don’t forget to check these out in the sponsorship form! We have educated students on the dangers of door knocking without adult supervision, and we encourage you to reiterate this at home. The best peo-ple to ask for sponsorship are people you know (e.g. friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours). Online Fundraising The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising, where students raise an aver-age of $120. On top of raising more money, it’s also safer and easier than doorknocking and you don’t have to worry about handling money!
