TROUT MAGNET SETUP IS KEYUse a light-action rod like our SLS-150. A stiff, sensitive rod allows you to cast further, feel subtle strikes and fight larger fish.

Use 2 or 4 pound test line. Trout S.O.S. is specifically designed for trout and other light-line fishing. It is crucial to use a line that is small in diameter.

The E-Z Trout Float is perfect for controlling the depth of the Trout Magnet—keeping it in the trout’s feeding zone (just above the river bed). The slot makes adding the float and adjusting the depth a breeze.

Tie 12” to 18“ of fluorocarbon leader to your linewhen fishing in clear water. For best results, use our Phantom Fluorocarbon.

For moving water, use one B or BB split shot about 12-14 inches above the Trout Magnet.

Hook Up: The Trout Magnet body should be tight to the shad-dart jig head, with the hook coming out the split of the tail. Make sure the body is straight on the hook. For best action, use 2lb. test line and a 2lb. fluorocarbon leader.

Leland's Lures began in 1997. It started with one

lure that was made in our garage called the Trout

Magnet. Now Leland's Lures carries many prod-

ucts for trout and crappie enthusiasts. What

began as a hobby for Jeff Smith and Todd Gainer,

owners of Leland's Lures, has now developed into

something more. These two, with many other

friends and family, were catching more fish than

anyone else on the stream. The secret kept

among these friends for so many years is now

available for everyone. "The Secret's Out!"

Leland’s Lures products are now sold around

the world. In April 2011, FIELD & STREAM

magazine listed the Trout Magnet in their new

top 30 classic lures. It ranked #10 and was the

only Trout lure on the list. We dedicate the

success of this company to the Lord who has

opened many doors.

THE UNIQUE 1/64oz shad dart head and split-tail grub allow the lure to fall

horizontally rather than vertically. A trout’s entire food source flows downstream

naturally with the current. This is why most jigs do not work for trout. The Trout

Magnet, on the other hand, flows naturally with the stream. This horizontal

falling action also makes it deadly for other species of fish.

Our preferred

method is to fish the Trout Magnet

under an E-Z Trout Float. The float serves as

a strike indicator as well as keeping the lure

at the appropriate depth—allowing the lure to

remain in the feeding zone longer. Simply set

the E-Z Trout Float at the depth that allows

the Trout Magnet to flow naturally with the

current just above the bottom. Set the hook

if the strike indicator moves or goes under.

THE MINI MAGNET PACKSA MIGHTY PUNCH!

THE MINI MAGNET is a much smaller version of the Trout magnet. The Mini Magnet is designed for both fly and spin fishermen. It can be fished as a dropper or in tandem with a Trout Magnet or another fly. When fly fishing it can be used like a midge, or a dropper fly under an indicator or another fly. When using spinning gear you use the Mini Magnet as a dropper to a Trout Magnet under the EZ Trout Float. Tie the Trout Magnet onto fluorocarbon leader and leave 18" tag end. Tie the Mini Magnet to the 18" tag end. While fishing, drift the Mini Magnet as close to bottom as possible.
