How Does LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Work?

Each participant builds his or her own three-dimensional LEGO model in response to the facilitator’s questions / challenges. These 3D models serve as the basis for group discussion, knowledge sharing, problem solving and decision-making.

The questions (or challenges) that the facilitator asks change and develop as the session advances. In some cases they require personal reflection, in other cases they require group discussion and full consensus and in some cases they require mapping of the full picture by linking various models in a system

Participants may use the individual and group models to discuss and share new ideas, to resolve problems, to decide alternative strategies, to forge closer team bonds, to give and receive feedback, to identify strengths and weaknesses, etc. The focus of the workshop and the questions posed are all agreed on by the facilitator and the client in advance to ensure that they group are steered towards the desired objective.
