Legends...

According to one book written for Glodzhevo’s past, it is created by refugees after plague. Many Christians and Muslims settled to these lands. Within a few years Christian population were getting less and less. By the time of 1872 there were living only Muslim population.After the Liberation of Bulgaria there could be seen Christians again.

Firstly it was called Glogovo, Glodzhovo because of many

haws. (in Bulgarian GLOG means haw).

There were also so many lakes. And around them there was a lush

forest. Also the area where Glodzhevo is located today, is called Ludogorie, which means

litterally translated – crazy forest.

The main grandfather’s food was the bread. This is why you can hear “ Let’s eat a bread.” instead of just “Let’s have a lunch”. The bread was really important. When it got famous with the fertile of the land, more and more people were coming in Glodzhevo. Even groups called Cherkezi from Russia settled in the country.
