STARTERGli starter possono essere di tipo standard, con inserimentoelettronico o completamente elettronici:

- Lo starter di tipo standard obbliga l’ utilizzatore ad unpronto intervento di sostituzione della lampada in via diesaurimento per evitare pericolosi surriscaldamenti.

- Lo starter con disinserimento automatico o elettronicoblocca i persistenti tentativi di accensione che si verificanoquando la lampada è in via di esaurimento, interrompendoil circuito.

- Lo starter completamente elettronico accende molto piùrapidamente la lampada e preserva l’impianto da pericolosisurriscaldamenti, bloccando i persistenti tentativi diaccensione che si verificano quando la lampada è in via diesaurimento.

TEMPERATURA “T…” DEI PORTASTARTERNella scelta dei portastarter da utilizzare negli apparecchi diilluminazione non si deve sottovalutare la temperaturasviluppata dalle diverse fonti di calore, quali la lampada,l'alimentatore e la corrente che lo attraversa.Per cui è indispensabile assicurarsi che:

1 L' apparecchio sia in grado di smaltire il calore in essocontenuto.

2 La temperatura massima raggiunta nell'apparecchio nonsuperi mai la “T…” assegnata ai suoi componenti perchépotrebbe essere causa di pericolo e di danni.

Secondo le norme EN/IEC 60400 la marchiatura “T...” indicala massima temperatura di funzionamento assegnata aiportastarter.

I portastarter senza una “T…” assegnata (par. 17.1 “test A” dellenorme EN/IEC 60400) possono funzionare ad unatemperatura massima di 80°C.

CATEGORIA DI SOVRATENSIONEI portastarter per lampade fluorescenti (EN/IEC 60400) sonoconformi alle distanze in aria e superficiali richieste almenoper la categoria di sovratensione II (norme EN/IEC 60664-1)

COLLAUDO FINALE DEGLI APPARECCHI DI ILLU-MINAZIONELa scelta dei componenti e il loro corretto montaggiocompete al costruttore dell’ apparecchio di illuminazioneche deve anche provvedere al suo collaudo finale perverificarne il buon funzionamento.

STARTERSStarters can be standard, with automatic or electronicswitching off or fully electronic type:

- Standard starters require a prompt lamp replacement toprevent dangerous luminaire overheating at the end of lamplife.

- Starters with automatic or electronic switch off are able toprevent the continuous attempts to strike a lamp near theend of its life.

Electronic starters quickly strike the lamp and also preventthe luminaire overheating at the end of lamp life by notcontinuously attempting to strike it.

TEMPERATURE “T…” OF STARTERHOLDERSWhen choosing the starterholders to assemble a luminaire itis important not to underestimate the temperaturedeveloped by the lamp, the ballast and its associatedcurrent.It is essential to make sure that:

1 The luminaire is able to dissipate the heat it produces.

2 The maximum temperature reached in the luminaire neverexceeds the “T…” relative to its components because it coldbe dangerous and cause damages.

According to EN/IEC 60400 standards, “T…” marking indicatesthe maximum working temperature of a starterholder.

Starterholders without a relative “T…” (par. 17.1 “test A” of theEN/IEC 60400 standards) can work up to a maximumtemperature of 80°C.

IMPULSE WITHSTAND CATEGORYStarterholders for fluorescent lamps (EN/IEC 60400) are inaccordance with the prescribed creepage distances andclearances at least for the impulse withstand category II(EN/IEC 60664-1 standards).

LUMINAIRES FINAL TESTThe luminaire manufacturer is responsible for the choice andthe correct mounting of the components and he must alsocarry out a final test on the luminaire to verify its correctoperation.
