Aug. 23, 2002:muscularbeaver(email muscularbeaver3000@hotmail.com) posted several falsecodes and cheats at CheatCodes.com without thinking to varify them.the staff puts them up without checking for varifacation. I've been markingall false codes and cheats I see whenever I go there and they have yet toremove 1. they also have put some FAQs under the wrong game. (email thestaff at CheatCodes and tell them they're lazy and stupid!) No FAQs forCheatCodes until they get to work.

*NEWS!!* I plan on doing at least SOMETHING for nearly every game I own andsome I don't. Weither a complete walkthrough of the game complete withASCII maps of every area(my GameBoy RPGs) or just a few passwords and

simple charts(MegaMan series games), I plan on doing something.Some games not included are the Game & Watch Gallery games, the Mario Kartgames, and sports games. I really don't see how much of a FAQ can be doneon them(for the most part)However, GameFAQs already has a lot of FAQs for some of these games andCheatCodes.com doesn't carry any info on older system's games, so some ofthese FAQs might not be seen until I make my own website. :<

Aug. 23, 2002: I am so sorry! I had planned on getting my FFX mini-FAQ doneduring spring break and send them both in, so I never sent this in. Forsome reason I get very board almost as soon as I start working on the FFXmini-FAQ. No clue why. It's still very unfinished. I've corrected somedates, updated My FAQs section, and reformatted to 75 characters per line.I have gotten many emails saying I'm wrong or giving false information formy DoA2:H FAQ. My FAQ is for DoA2:H NTSC for US PS2 and I've had the gamesince it came out. If I get many more of those emails, I'm gonna forgetabout updating it and see about getting it taken down.

I. Why I made this FAQ--------------------------------------------------This is the boring section. Feel free to skip ahead to section II or III.At least I'm honest.

It's simple. The first time I played the game (rented) I noticed my statswere going up in a pattern. Shortly before reaching level 10 I changedweapons for a few levels. When I checked back again, the pattern was nolonger there. I forgot about it before I had even returned the game. ^_^;

Later that summer(2000), I bought the game. I choose the same weapon as Ihad before and after a couple level ups I remembered the pattern, but Istill didn't remember that weapons effected it. When my little brotherstarted playing I noticed that his character's stats were changingdifferently than mine, but I thought it was because he choose the othercharacter, not because he had a different weapon.

Not until my levels were in the late 40s did I have a different weaponequiped when I leveled up. When I went to change weapons back, I noticed mystats no longer fell into the pattern they once did. It took about 3seconds to remember. Later on I noticed that the pattern was thrown off bymore than just a simple "stat A goes up by [0/1/2] at level up, stat B goes

up by [0/1/2], etc..." (see III.B)

However, for a few days I couldn't get around to checking GameFAQs to seeif anybody had done a FAQ on it yet. I look and no one had done an in-depthFAQ. I checked a few of the general FAQs and FAQ/Walkthroughs. No one evenmentioned a thing about it. So over the next few days (whenever I couldplay) I got some data together on this so I could write a FAQ on it. Thiswas over a year ago, and I haven't played since.. ^_^;

I checked Feb 21, 2002, and saw it briefly mentioned in a FAQ/Walkthroughat GameFAQs. Someone emailed the writer a very simple chart on it. There ismuch more to it than "after 4 level ups this stat changes this much, andthat stat changes that much"(I'm paraphrasing this). (see III.B)

II. The Stats and Weapons--------------------------------------------------A quick run-through of the different statuses and types of weapons

II. A. Stats------------------------------The reason each stat has 3 lines about it is because the first is what itsays in-game, the second line is what the instructions say, and the thirdis my basic explaination of it.

HP(health): damage the character can takeFirst row: Power - Raw strength level Affects the destructive power of heavy weapons that require strength base power for strength-based weapons Skills - Technical attack level Affects the destructive power of weapons that require great dexterity base power for "skill"-based weapons Defense - Defense against physical attacks Affects the resistance to physical attacks from monsters base defense against physical attacks Magic - defense against magic Affects the resistance to the magic attacks that monsters use base defense against magical attacksSecond row: HP(stat) - Affects HP and poison resistance Represents basic physical power, affects resistance to poison around how much your HP(health) will raise next level up* & poison..??? Spirit - Defense against status magic Affects resistance to a monster's status magic resistance to and how long staus magic effects you Charm - Affects status magic Affects the success rate of the character's own status magical power success rate of status changing attacks/magic Luck - Frequency of finding treasure Affects the appearance rate of treasure chests within dungeons what monster will drop. higher luck = rarer items !Notice! -- Luck changes only through what is currently equiped. If your equipment doesn't change it, it will be 5. (Unless you use GameShark or something similar *cough*cheater*cough* ;P ) *I'm not 100% on this one. After all, it has been over a year since I've played, and my character has had max health(999) for quite a while

III. How Equiped Weapons Effect Leveling Up--------------------------------------------------All that needs said before I go into detail is that what weapon youcurrently have equiped effects how your stats change when you level up.

III. A. Level Up!------------------------------Leveling up is fairly simple. Beat monsters and walk over("grab") anyexperience crystals(ECs) they drop. However, they might not drop any ECsand the amount of experience per crystal varies from place to place andfrom game to game.

Amount per crystal varies by:1) distance placed from home2) order is which the artifact->land is placed3) boss monsters give 10 times more than normal monsters

III. B. The Cycle------------------------------Leveling up happens in a pattern and goes in a cycle of 4. After 4 levelups, the pattern resets. It was originally thought that at level up, eachof the 7 stats that change will go up by either 0, 1, or 2.

That is incorrect. I had gotten rather high in levels and could tell aperson what my stats would be at any level with minimal thought. Then Ileveled up with a different weapon. I thought that would only change it bya few numbers and quickly edited my formula. I quickly found out that waswrong. My stats weren't changing quite like I thought they should.

That's when I came up with a new theory. My theory is that when you levelup each stat is given so many points based on what weapon is currentlyequiped and after so many points the stat increases by 1. So far thattheory seem to be correct.

III. C. Using Only 1 Weapon------------------------------These assume that you use only have weapons of 1 type equiped when youlevel up throughout the entire game. I'm doing this before points so youcan see how I got the numbers for points.
