DESCRIPTION
Buildings use approximately 40% of the energy in the US. Buzzwords like “going green” and “energy efficient” are more prevalent today. LEED is a rating system, which provides designers the opportunity to tailor their design to reduce the impact on society and the surroundings. It is an integrated process involving the architect, landscape architect, civil engineer, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) consultant, lighting designer and contractor. As a design team these professionals evaluate energy trade offs within a conceptual design to create a functional building. This session will focus on LEED V4. It will target LEED’s definition, history and categories. More importantly, how to become a LEED accredited professional and LEED’s V4 holistic approach to building design.TRANSCRIPT
