the integration of both private and collaborative meeting spaces was paramount to the success of this full floor noho loft renovation. a crafted, floating ceiling element helps to unify the space while the open loft volume breathes within the circulation and common areas. re-purposing of existing materials was an important aspect of the project from a budgetary outlook, as well as reaching our goals of designing an environmentally responsible space.

located in dumbo, and designed for the world’s most exciting online marketplace for handmade goods, we transformed a raw space into a world of etsy. open work spaces and meeting rooms were laid out with careful attention to acoustic control and access to natural light. core common spaces are located within two centrally located curved walls permitting passage and reinforcing transparency across the floor. handmade materials are introduced thoughout to promote the brand and make the space uniquely etsy.

the lecture hall represents nyu’s continuing effort to upgrade its existing infrastructure throughout its academic buildings. the space functions as a large format classroom for up to 97 students, while also serving as a public assembly space for the surrounding academic population. our design used a subtle color palette, highlighted by an acoustic floating ceiling which incorporates lighting and classroom technologies.
