Basic safety precautions should always be followed when using this appliance. 1. Read these instructions thoroughly before use.

2. This appliance should not be used by children. Close supervision is necessary when using this appliance near children.

3. Do NOT leave grinder unattended when in use.

4. Do NOT use in damp or wet conditions.

5. For indoor use only.

6. To protect against electrical shock, do not place cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid.

7. Unplug from outlet when not in use or when moving or disassembling. Always unplug using the plug and not by pulling on the cord.

8. Never connect or disconnect plug with wet hands.

9. Do NOT operate flour mill with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance is damaged or malfunctions in any way. Call our toll-free customer service number for information regarding returning or replacing the mill. There are no user serviceable parts in this appliance.

10. Do NOT allow the cord to hang over the edge of the table or counter or come in contact with hot surfaces.

11. Only use mill on a solid, level surface.

12. Do NOT allow appliance to rest on the power cord.

13. Maintain a ventilation clearance of four inches on all sides of the mill.

14. If mill stops, or if there is excessive noise, turn power off, unplug from electrical outlet, disassemble, clean all components then reassemble machine. Discontinue use and call our toll-free customer service number if cleaning does not resolve these issues.

15. Keep fingers and other objects away from chute.

16. Do NOT push grains into chute.

17. Do NOT put any part of the mill, including the Hopper or Hopper Cover, in a dishwasher.

18. Do NOT store your mill if any part of it is wet or damp.

19. Do NOT grind damp grains.

20. Only grind approved grains, as described later in this manual. Grinding unapproved grains may impact the performance of your mill and/or void the warranty.

21. Clean grains before milling to remove stones or other small foreign objects.

22. Only use flour mill for its intended use.

23. For household use only. This appliance is not intended or approved for commercial use.

24. Avoid contacting moving parts.

25. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may casue fire, electric shock or injury.

26. Check hopper for presence of foreign ovjects before using.

BEFORE USING THE FIRST TIME

1. Remove all parts from the box.2. Purge the mill by grinding 2 cups of grain and discarding.3. Disassemble mill following the instructions in the Disassembly and Cleaning

section of this manual.4. Hand wash each part, except the grinding stone, in warm soapy water. Bowl is

dishwasher safe.5. Use a damp cloth to wipe down housing.6. Dry each part thoroughly before assembling.

IMPORTANT: THE GRINDING STONE SHOULD NEVER BE EXPOSED TO WATER.

WARNING: KEEP FINGERS AND OTHER OBJECTS AWAY FROM INLET TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE TO MILL.

CAUTION: RISK OF SUFFOCATION - KEEP ALL PACKAGING AND PLASTIC BAGS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

HOW TO USEYour Lee Flour Mill is a gravity fed mill with a nine position grinding lever to change the consistency of the grind from course to fine. The dust cover reduces air-borne particles of your newly ground flour. The mill is equipped with a safety feature to automatically cut the motor in the event that overheating occurs. If this happens, switch the power to OFF, unplug the mill and give the motor 15 minutes to cool down before resuming use.

3-PRONG PLUG

This appliance has a 3-prong (grounding) plug for use in a 3-prong (grounding) outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock. This appliance should only be used with a 120V, 60Hz grounded outlet. Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, electrical shock, serious injury, or death.

If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, contact a qualified electrician to install a 3-prong (grounding) outlet. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. Do not use an adapter or an extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, electrical shock, serious injury, or death.

DISASSEMBLY AND CLEANING 

Your Lee Household Flour Mill will provide your family with fresh flour from most dry grains such as wheat and buckwheat. For more information on compatible grains, visit organicsbylee.com

It is important to thoroughly clean the mill and its internal parts after every usage in order to keep the mill in good working order and to avoid rancidity. Refer to the diagram on the following page to become familiar with the parts of the mill and then follow the step-by-step instructions for disassembly.

DISASSEMBLY

GRAIN GRINDING

IMPORTANT: NEVER MILL GRAINS THAT HAVE A HIGH OIL OR MOISTURE CONTENT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MILL WET OR DAMP PRODUCTS. DO NOT REGRIND FLOUR.

IMPORTANT: THE GRINDING STONE SHOULD NEVER BE EXPOSED TO WATER.

1. Using the disassembly tool or flathead screwdriver, remove the two screws that hold the front cover on the mill housing.

2. Remove the front cover and plate.3. Grasp the quick coupler and pull straight out. 4. Pull out the governor and disk assembly.5. Carefully remove the grinding stone.6. Unscrew the control lever. The disassembly tool can be used to loosen the

control lever.7. Remove the adjustable ring by turning it clockwise until it stops and pull out.

WARNING: TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, ALWAYS SWITCH THE UNIT TO OFF AND REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE

DISASSEMBLING THE MILL.

1. Use the cleaning brush to clean the chute, both from the top and bottom.2. Use the cleaning brush to whisk flour dust from all parts, including the

grinding stone.3. If desired, wash parts in warm soap water with the exception of the

grinding stone. 4. Bowl may be washed by hand or in dishwasher.5. Rinse or hand-wash the bowl cover in cold water. Air dry.6. Thoroughly dry all parts before reassembling the mill.

Reassemble the mill following the disassembly instructions in reverse order.

IMPORTANT: YOU MAY NEED TO ROTATE GOVERNOR AND DISK ASSEMBLY WHILE HOLDING THE MOTOR SHAFT TO MAKE SURE IT IS PROPERLY SEATED ON THE SHAFT.

CAUTION: WHEN INSTALLING THE QUICK COUPLER, LISTEN FOR A CLICK, INDICATING THAT THE COUPLER IS FULLY SEATED ON THE MOTOR SHAFT. WHEN SEATED, THE COUPLER SHOULD ENGAGE AS FOLLOWS

RETURNS

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Lee Engineering warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from date of purchase. Within this warranty period, manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option, defective parts of the Lee Flour Mill, model S-700 at no charge, provided the product is returned, freight prepaid with proof of purchase to Lee Engineering. Allow 2-4 weeks for return shipping.

This warranty does not cover improper installation, misuse, abuse or neglect on part of the owner. Warranty is also invalid in any case that the any part is serviced by anyone other than the manufacturer.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights which may vary from state to state.

Prior to returning your Lee Flour Mill, please contact our toll-free Customer Service line at 1-844-781-5080 to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
