REVIEW OF LITERATURE

One example of literature review:-If researcher is working on Retired people to know their Social life and securityafter retirement. Review will be followed:

Kumar A. & Chandrasekhar, (2013) in their study “A Sociological study onRetired Government employs in Karnataka” focused to familial responsibility ,life style, health problems and their life satisfaction after the retirement. Authorhas used both qualitative and quantitative research method with total of 528respondents to know the responsibilities and status of retired person withintheir family and family member’s attitude towards the non-active retired person.

Major findings of this study author shows that majority of the retiredrespondent often expends their saving money for children education, theirmarriage instead of their personal need after retirement. Due to the non-activelife of retired person, they face many health problems like muscles and jointpains, dental problem, heart related disease while most of the old age peoplehave multi diseases such as visual+ hearing impairment, weak eye sight, asthmaas well as digestive problems like indigestions and dyspepsia. Nuclear family canbe a major reason for neglect and careless behavior of sandwich generationtowards old age people due to their un-adjustable condition with their children.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

1) Analysis must be based on tool of data collection2) Analysis must be logical3) There are three types of analysis

I) Logical Analysisa) Method of agreementb) Method of Disagreementc) Method of Differenced) Method of Associated Variancee) Method of residue

II) Statistical AnalysisAnalyzing the data mainly on the basis of types of tables

III) Graphical AnalysisAnalyzing the data in the form of graphs and charts

4) Every table must have a title. Title must be explained and its objectives must be given.

5) In a bi-variable table the independent and dependent variable must be mentioned.

Cont………………..

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

• In the first paragraph itself the objective of the table must be given.

• In the second paragraph the statistical analysis of the independent variablemust be given in terms of percentages. If the percentages are too low illogical, certain data must be clubbed together. In the same paragraph statisticalanalysis of dependent variable must be given, here also clubbing orclassification of data can be done for a meaningful understanding of thetable.

• In the third paragraph the relationship between independent and dependentvariable must be analyzed with the help of statistical tests. Dependents ofdependent variable on independent variable must be proved.

• In the fourth paragraph an interpretation of the data must be given it meanswhy the interpretation of the data reflects in such a way. The interpretation ofthe researcher must be the best, the most logical and the most scientific one.

• In the last paragraph a comparison of various findings of previous researchersare given in certain occasions. Policy resolutions of govt., international bodiesare incorporated in these paragraphs to show the agreement or disagreement.
