AUGM 2019 Extension Winter School

La Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM) y la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (UN-Cuyo) se propusieron abordar la “Implementación de Prácticas Socioeducativas” a través de una Es-cuela de Invierno que se llevará a cabo en Mendo-za, Argentina, desde el cinco al nueve de agosto.

Con un programa de actividades de 30 horas, esta EVI basa su propuesta en el Objetivo de Desarro-llo Sostenible (ODS) número cuatro, que refiere a “garantizar una educación inclusiva, equitativa y de calidad y promover oportunidades de aprendizaje para toda la vida para todos/as”. UNESP presentó RIESAL durante la Conferencia 2019 de FAUBAI

UNESP showcased RIESAL during FAUBAI

2019 ConferenceDurante la Conferencia FAUBAI 2019 en Belem, RIESAL se presentó en las sesiones de los talleres pre-vios a la conferencia para los recién llegados en las oficinas de relaciones internacionales. Ésta fue la quinta edi-ción del taller titulado "Cómo gestionar una oficina internacional", que se centró en los desafíos y problemas para dirigir una oficina internacional en Brasil. Patricia Spadaro de UNESP - miembro de RIE-SAL, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Minas Gerais y la Universidad Federal de Viçosa compartió estrategias relacionadas con asociaciones, movilidad y programas de sus oficinas, así como mecanismos y herramientas para gestionar iniciativas de internacionalización. Los participantes tuvieron acceso a información valiosa sobre estrategia, modelos de organización, finanzas, comunicación y recursos humanos relacionados con las oficinas e interactuaron con profesionales con ex-periencia. Hubo 100 nuevos funcionarios y gerentes internacionales en la audiencia y RIESAL se presentó como un referente para el desarrollo de capacidades de recursos humanos en la internacionalización en América Latina y el Caribe.

During the 2019 FAUBAI Conference in Belem, RIESAL was presented at the pre- conference Workshop sessions for newco-mers in International Relations Offices. This was the 5th edition of the workshop entitled “How to manage an international office” focused on the challenges and issues in run-ning an international office in Brazil. Patricia Spadaro from UNESP - member of RIESAL, PUCMinas and Federal University of Viço-sa shared strategies related to partnerships, mobility and programs of their offices, as well as mechanisms and tools to manage internationalization initiatives. Participants had access to valuable information regar-ding strategy, organization models, finance, communication and human resources rela-

ted to the offices and interacted with experienced professionals.

There were 100 new interna-tional officers and managers at the audience and Riesal was presented as a refe-rence for human resour-ces capacity building in internationalization in Latin

America and the Caribbean.

Universidad ORT Uruguay concreta acuerdos forma-les de cooperación aca-démica con IES europeas

Universidad ORT Uruguay signs formal agreements of academic cooperation with European HEIs

Dentro de las acciones de RIESAL se contempla fortalecer la coopera-ción entre América Latina y el Cari-be con la Unión Europea (ALC-UE) y la Universidad ORT Uruguay tuvo la oportunidad de llevar adelante varias acciones de vinculación insti-tucional individual, particularmente dirigidas a establecer lazos de coo-peración con instituciones de países con los que tenía menos vínculos en áreas disciplinares específicas, incluso inexistentes en algún caso, como el Reino Unido, Suecia y los Países Bajos. Como resultado de estas visitas académicas, la univer-sidad ha celebrado nuevos acuer-dos formales de cooperación, inclu-yendo acuerdos específicos para la movilidad de estudiantes. Más aún, ha generado espacios para el inicio de proyectos de Movilidad Interna-cional por Créditos (Acción Clave 1 del Programa Erasmus+) tanto con la Universidad de Uppsala, Suecia, como con la Universidad de Cien-cias Aplicadas de Amsterdam, Paí-ses Bajos. Estos proyectos se lleva-rán a cabo a lo largo del período 2019 a 2022, más allá de la fecha de cierre del Proyecto RIESAL en octubre 2019, apoyando de esta forma la sustentabilidad de uno de los principales cometidos del pro-yecto: el convertirse en un semille-ro de nuevas y diversas acciones y proyectos de internacionalización, tanto a nivel regional como en el contexto de las relaciones euro-la-

tinoamericanas.

Among RIESAL goals it is to strengthen the cooperation be-tween Latin America and the Caribbean with the European Union (LAC-EU), ORT University Uruguay had the oppor-tunity to carry out several individual actions of academic cooperation with institutions from European countries that registered very little or no cooperation at all, such as the United Kingdom, Sweden and The Netherlands. As a result of these academic visits, ORT has entered into new formal cooperation agreements, including specific agreements for student mobility. Moreover, it has generated spaces for the start of International Mobility Projects by Credit (Action Key 1 of the Erasmus+ Program) both with the University of Upp-sala, Sweden, and with the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. These projects will be carried out throughout the period 2019 to 2022, beyond the closing date of the RIESAL Project in October 2019, thus supporting the sustainability of one of the main tasks of the project: to become a hotbed of new and diverse internationalization actions and projects, both regionally and in the context of Euro-Latin American and the Caribbean relations.

CUMBRE COLOMBO FRANCESA DE EDUCACION SUPERIOR, INVESTI-GACION E INNOVACION – COLIFRI

El 12 y 13 de junio de 2019, los gobiernos de Fran-cia y Colombia celebraron conjuntamente la "Cumbre de educación superior, investigación e innovación co-lombiano-francesa - COLIFRI 2019" para ampliar y for-talecer la cooperación en áreas que se considerarán estratégicas para ambos países, en particular. Un con-texto de crecientes intercambios culturales, económicos, científicos, tecnológicos y universitarios. Este evento, sin precedentes en Colombia, a nivel nacional e internacio-nal, reunirá simultáneamente a 3 grandes comunidades colombiano-francesas: la comunidad académica, la co-munidad científica y el sector empresarial a través de un programa que ofrecerá formas de colaboración que fomenten el desarrollo de ecosistemas de investigación. y la innovación. La Asociación Colombiana-Francesa de Investigadores COLIFRI, la Asociación Colombiana de Universidades (ASCUN) y la Universidad EAFIT son

COOPERATION IN IRELAND

Entre los objetivos de RIESAL es fortalecer la cooperación entre América Latina y el Caribe con la Unión Europea (ALC-UE), la Universidad EAFIT tuvo la oportunidad de llevar a cabo va-rias acciones de cooperación institucional indivi-dual, en particular con el objetivo de establecer vínculos entre la cooperación con instituciones en Irlanda. Entre las instituciones visitadas, se encuentran: University College Cork, Trinity Co-llege Dublin, University College Dublin y Enter-prise Ireland-Education en Irlanda. Los objetivos principales de la visita incluyeron iniciar la co-laboración con diferentes IES, compañías y en-tidades gubernamentales en Irlanda; identificar buenas prácticas sobre internacionalización, que se pueden replicar en EAFIT; e identificar nuevas posibilidades de cooperación entre ambos paí-ses. Específicamente, se alcanzaron dos acuer-dos de cooperación académica, incluyendo la movilidad de estudiantes y personal académico, el programa de enseñanza y aprendizaje para el personal académico; colaboraciones cientí-ficas y escuelas de verano; dos charlas para promover EAFIT y Medellín como destino educativo y ciudad innovadora; y una agenda de seguimiento con visitas a Medellín-EAFIT en octubre y noviembre por las contrapar-tes irlandesas para finalizar las negociaciones.

Among RIESAL goals it is to strengthen the coo-peration between Latin America and the Cari-bbean with the European Union (LAC-EU), the Universidad EAFIT had the opportunity to carry out several actions of individual institutional coo-peration, particularly aimed at establishing links between cooperation with institutions in Ireland. The main goals of the visit included initia-ting collaboration with different HEIs, companies and government entities in Ireland; identify good practices on internationalization, which can be re-plicated in EAFIT; and identify new possibilities for cooperation between both countries. Specifica-lly, two academic cooperation agreements were reached, including student and academic person-nel mobility, the teaching and learning program for academic personnel; scientific collaborations and summer schools; two talks to promote EAFIT and Medellín as an educational destination and

innovative city; and a follow-up agenda with visits to Medellín-EAFIT in October and

November by the Irish counterparts to finalize the negotiations.

En el marco del convenio Erasmus+ de Movilidad firmado entre la Universidad del Norte, Colombia y Karlstad University, Suecia; Vanessa García, Coordina-dora de Proyectos Internacionales de la Dirección de Cooperación y Desarrollo Internacional de UNINOR-TE, estuvo presente en la International Staff Exchange Week del 10 al 14 de junio/ 2019 en Karstad, Suecia.

Durante el encuentro, estuvieron presentes delegados de las Oficinas Internacionales de diferentes Institucio-nes de Educación Superior de países como República Checa, México, Tailandia, Estados Unidos, Reino Uni-do, Croacia, Alemania y Suecia. El objetivo principal del encuentro fue optimizar la posibilidad de trabajar en Cooperación Internacional con otras instituciones y conocer las estrategias de internacionalización de las

Instituciones participantes.

UNINORTE en la International Staff Exchange Week, en la Uni-versidad Karlstad

Durante la agenda llevada a cabo se tuvo la oportuni-dad de analizar socios nuevos y potenciales, así como también evaluar nuevas posibilidades de articulación para en proyectos internacionales y acciones relacio-nadas con la internacionalización de la educación su-perior, fue un espacio para a conocer la Universidad del Norte y a Colombia como destino para la educa-ción superior. Adicionalmente, se identificaron nuevas iniciativas de colaboración institucional con potenciales socios y aliados de otras regiones, se desarrollaron espacios de intercambio de experiencias y prácticas de internacionalización que se llevan a cabo en cada institución, se tuvo la oportunidad de conocer el siste-ma de educación sueco y se logró consolidar nuevas oportunidades de programas de movilidad estudiantil entre UNINORTE y Karlstad University a través de re-

cursos de la Comisión Europea.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Mobility Agree-ment signed between the Universidad del Norte, Colom-bia and Karlstad University, Sweden; Vanessa García, Coordinator of International Projects of the Internatio-nal Cooperation and Development Department of UNI-NORTE, was present at the International Staff Exchange

Week from June 10 to 14, 2019 in Karstad, Sweden.

During the meeting, delegates from the International Offices of different Institutions of Higher Education from countries such as the Czech Republic, Mexico, Thailand, the United States, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Ger-many and Sweden were present. The main objective of the meeting was to optimize the possibility of working in International Cooperation with other institutions and to know the internationalization strategies of the parti-

cipating Institutions.

During the week’s program, there was an opportunity to analyze new and potential partners, as well as to evaluate new possibilities of cooperation in international projects and actions related to the internationalization of higher education. It was an opportunity to for the Universidad del Norte and Colombia to be known as a destination for higher education. Additionally, new initia-tives of institutional collaboration with potential partners from other regions were identified; and it was possible to consolidate new opportunities for student mobility programs between UNINORTE and Karlstad University

through resources of the European Commission.
