Preface

Programme Agenda

The era of the Sustainable Development Goals has begun. If the public health goals of this new eracould be captured in a single idea it would be: “leave no one behind”. Whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, education level, income, or where they happen to live, no person should ever miss out onthe chance for health and well-being. This session will highlight innovative approaches that will 1)strengthen the capacity of national health programmes to better address equity, gender, humanrights and social determinants of health and 2) build skills for health inequality monitoring asnational health authorities move toward universal health coverage and leaving no one behind.
