OverviewWayside Publishing makes it easy for districts to get the most out of the Learning Site® by providing integration with Schoology. Districts will have access to online learning materials via Wayside Publishing’s Learning Management System (LMS), the Learning Site®. Explorer® digital resources and interactive activities and FlexText® digital textbooks ensure students and teachers are on the path to proficiency, engaging with equitable and innovative pedagogical resources.
Wayside & SchoologyIntegrating the Learning Site® as an LTI App requires the least amount of setup and maintenance and offers users easy access to the clean and user-friendly Learning Site® user interface. When you’re ready, we simply connect with you to pass a consumer key and shared secret that will allow you to install the Learning Site® LTI App and connect across platforms. No complicated and time-consuming configuration is required.

Installing the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® LTI App in Schoology1. You can install apps directly into a course or group. To install the Learning Site® LTI App, click
the App Center icon, then click the App Center button. You can also access Schoology’s App Center directly using this link: https://app.schoology.com/apps.
2. Select the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® LTI App to install (click the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® name to read an in-depth overview).
3. Click the Install LTI App button to begin the installation process.
4. Check the box of each course or group of the desired installation. After selecting a course, you have the option to make the app available only to Course Admin. Please note that adding the application to the My App Center Dropdown Menu does not work, and the Application needs to be added to the relevant course(s).
5. Click Install to complete installation.

6. Within your course, open the Course Options dropdown and click External Tool Providers.
7. Click on Wayside Publishing Learning Site®.
8. Enter the Consumer Key and Shared Secret provided by your district. If you need it, you can reach out to our support team at [email protected].
9. Click Submit.

10. From within your course again, click on the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® application seen in your sidebar.

Configuring the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® LTI App in Schoology (For School Administrators)1. Contact Wayside Publishing’s Learning Site® technical support team by emailing
[email protected] or calling (888) 302-2519 to receive the consumer key and shared secret for your institution.
2. If you are not already in Schoology’s App Center, click the App Center icon at the top of Schoology, then click the App Center button. Alternatively, you can also access Schoology’s App Center directly using this link: https://app.schoology.com/apps.
3. Find the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® LTI App, click Install LTI App and then choose Add to Organization.
4. In your Organization Apps list, you will see a list of apps installed in your school. Click the Configure button next to the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® app.
5. Enter the Consumer Key and Shared Secret provided to you. No custom parameters are needed.
6. Click Save settings to complete configuration of the Wayside Publishing Learning Site LTI App.
7. You can install the Wayside Publishing Learning Site® LTI App automatically for every course or tell your teachers to click Install LTI App from Schoology’s App Center.
