Fall 2016 Trustee Education Workshop“The Human Side of Effective and Efficient Leadership – It’s All About the People”November 25, 2016Norwood Hotel, Winnipeg
We are pleased to be welcoming Stephen Hansen, past executive director of the British Columbia School Trustees Association, for this full-day session. This interactive workshop will explore the unwritten realities of school board governance – the sometimes “messy” bits that aren’t in policies, bylaws or
the Act. Building on the lived experience of trustees we will discuss the challenges of working together as a board, building appropriate and effective relationships with senior staff, managing the expectations of constituents, and tools for assessing your governance effectiveness. This workshop, which is designed for both new and seasoned trustees, will be engaging, honest, and fun. You will leave with enhanced insight into the people side of board work and tools that you can use at your own board table.
