!LEARNING FROM THE EMERGING FUTURE

Thursday May 7th from 7.30pm. Friday May 8th from 9.30am

A Unique Setting - The event will be held at a number of venues in Cloughjordan Ecovillage. This community in rural Tipperary is fast becoming a living ecosystem of innovation. Pioneering low carbon housing, renewable energy and biodiversity enhancement the ecovillage is demonstrating how we create healthy environ-ments to live, work and learn in. With a community farm, a green enterprise centre with a co-working space and a FabLab, research gardens, an award-winning bakery, an eco-hostel, a renewable en-ergy heating system, and a vibrant community with plans for co-housing, youth leadership projects and much more, Cloughjordan is an incredibly rich environment to explore and co-create the fu-ture together. www.thevillage.ie wecreate.ie www.cloughjordancommunityfarm.ie !

Theory U is a framework and methodology that enables people, individually and collectively, to steadfastly pursue their bigger goals, dreams and visions to create the kind of change that is needed now and for the future. Fear, cultural norms and the constraints of a fail-ing but dominant system can leave us stuck, and often we do not have the tenacity and energy to follow through on what we know is possible.

To bring about the level of transformation required in ourselves, our organisations and our society, we need a new way of learning and of leading—one not limited to repeating the patterns of the past.

You are invited on a learning journey de-signed to enable change makers from across Ireland, and the innovators of the many projects in Cloughjordan to come together, and to tune into the possibili-ties of the future. !• Catch a wave of energy and interest around

Theory U • Explore existing and potential ecosystems of in-

novation • Prototype actions for a better Ireland “The future is not about tinkering with the surface of struc-tural change. It is not just about replacing one mindset with another, that no longer serves us. It is a future that requires us to tap into a deeper level of our humanity, of who we re-ally are and who we want to be as a society. !It is a future that requires us to shift from an ego-system awareness that cares about the well-being of oneself to an eco-system, that care about the well-being of all, including oneself. Who Should Attend? We are inviting three groups of people to come together on May 8th in Cloughjordan... !People into Theory U - over 60 people in Ireland were part of the recent U Lab on-line course (part of over 28,000 globally) and many more have been inspired by the Theory U model https://www.presencing.com/ego-to-eco/overview !People in Cloughjordan – the community in rural Tipperary that is fast becoming a living ecosystem of innovation. !Other people into ecosystems of innovation – throughout Ireland, more and more people in social, economic, academic and oth-er environments are appreciating that innovation works best as an eco-systemic quality, rather than just something individuals do. !!!!!!!!Fee and Booking Places are very limited so we are asking people to pay a €25 deposit to secure a place on the event. “LEARNING FROM THE EMERGING FUTURE” is an event focused on the right hand side of the ‘U’, which is a jour-ney of prototyping and embodying change. The different sessions will provide the opportunity to learn from each other, inspire each other and help commit to actions to create the kind of systemic change that is needed today in our communities, organisations and country. It offers: !• The opportunity to connect with like-minded

colleagues / change-makers • The chance to learn intentionally from the in-

sights and lessons of a current eco-system of innovation in Cloughjordan

• Help to prepare and sustain us individually and collectively on our journey

• A space for testing ideas and seeking support • Learning from the experience of others • The potential for a new ecosystem to emerge !!Thursday May 7th from 7.30pm We are encouraging those that can to meet the evening before the event, to come along to a ’bring and share’ meal in Django’s Hostel in Cloughjordan Ecovillage. !After dinner there will be two separate streams, you are invited to choose whichever you know less about and join in. The two streams will come together at the end of the evening to share perspectives and build common intent.

!Stream 1 An Introduction to Theory U A presentation and dialogue led by Nadine McCarthy and Chris Chapman. Since it emerged around 2006, Theory U has come to be understood in three primary ways: first as a framework; second, as a method for leading profound change; and third, as a way of being - connecting to the more authentic aspects of our self. In this short ses-sion Chris and Nadine will share a few key principles of Theory U.

!Stream2 Cloughjordan - An Ecosystem of Innovation A presentation and dialogue led by Davie Philip and Grace Walsh, plus many of the people living and working in the ecovillage. This short session will introduce some of the projects that are pioneering a community approach to modelling the transition to a low carbon society.

!Friday May 8th from 9.30am – 5.00pm This full day facilitated event will allow us to sense what is emerging, participate in the collective harvesting of stories, take a tour of the ecovillage and engage in a pro-ac-tion cafe - a prototyping format for exploring, sharing and developing ideas as well as committing to actions to move projects forward in a tangible way. Included is a deli-cious lunch, grown, baked, and produced in Cloughjordan.
