FOTS News

At our FOTS meeting on Tuesday the position of group coordina-

tor was open for nominations and Tim McCrohan volunteered to

lead the group in Term Three—thanks heaps Tim!

Thanks and well done to Danielle Donnelly who successfully led

the group in Term Two, including organising the successful Wood

Raffle.

As was published in the newsletter during Term Two, our fund-

raising priorities for the remainder of 2017 are directed towards

installing a sandpit within the new playground space and further

landscaping the new playground space.

Elmore Field Days Fundraiser

The Field Days will be held in the second week of the upcoming

school holidays and once again our school is asking for volun-

teers to fulfil catering roles during this event. For each hour of

time donated to the Elmore Field Days Catering our school earns

approximately $22. Attached to today’s newsletter is the roster

and we ask members of our school community to consider volun-

teering their time in one of the vacant positions.

Father’s Day

We will be organising a special gift for Father’s Day for each child

to give to their Dad. Student will be asked to contribute a small

amount to cover the purchase of materials for this.

Bunnings BBQ

We are looking at running a Bunnings BBQ either later this year

or early next year. Melinda S is working on this. More to come!

Other ideas raised at the meeting for consideration included a

cookie dough fundraiser, trivia night, Family Games Night and

holding some form of social event so new families can meet.

As is always the case, we are happy to involve new members so

please feel free to contact Tim or Jason if you would like to be

involved.

PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT

Last night we held our Parent Information Session for

families with a student beginning in 2018. It was a pleas-

ure to meet three potential new families and talk to

them about our wonderful school.

CAMPASPE CLUSTER ATHLETICS CARNIVAL (Gr. 3-6)

On Friday 25th August our Grade Three-Six students will travel by bus to the Athletics Centre in Flora Hill, Bendigo to participate in the Campaspe Cluster Athletics Carnival. The students will complete a round robin of track and field events in their age group with the students from the other Campaspe Cluster schools.

Further details and a permission form for this excursion accompany today’s newsletter.

If there are any parents who would like to travel with us on the bus, please let me know.

SCHOOL COUNCIL NEWS

At our School Council meeting on Monday 24th July the

following policies were reviewed and approved:

School Philosophy Statement.

First Aid Policy.

Care of Ill Student Policy.

Bushfire Preparedness Policy.

These policies are available from the school office should

parents be interested in having a look at them.

Council also discussed the installation of a new sandpit

to be incorporated into the new playground space. The

school is eager to progress this work as quickly as possi-

ble and it is anticipated that this work will be completed

by the end of Term Three.

BENDIGO HEALTH DENTAL SCREENING

A reminder about the free dental screens available for

our students through Bendigo Health. Consent forms

accompanied last week’s newsletter and were due back

to the school today. Please return your consent form

ASAP if you haven’t already done so and would like your

child to participate when the Bendigo Health team visits

on 17th August. Further details are over the page.

Quote of the Week

“What does matter is teachers having a mind frame in which they see it as their role to evaluate their effect on learning.”

- John Hattie

Jason Cox, Principal

Principal’s Report

Please return the consent form which was attached to the newsletter on Friday 21st July ASAP if you would

like your child to be seen.

Woolworths

Earn & Learn Dear Parents,

This year we will be participating in the Woolworths

Earn & Learn program.

From Wednesday 26th July to Tuesday 19th Septem-

ber, we are collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Stick-

ers. You will get one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker

for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco and gift

cards). Place the Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker on-

to a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet and when

it’s complete, the Sticker Sheet can be dropped into

the Collection Box here at the school or at your local

Woolworths. At the end of the promotion, we’ll be

able to get some great new equipment.

Thanks in anticipation of your support!

Elmore Field Days

The Field Days will be held in the second week of the upcoming school holidays and once again our

school is asking for volunteers to fulfil catering roles during this event. For each hour of time donated to

the Elmore Field Days Catering our school earns approximately $22. Volunteers are asked to either to

help prepare or serve food.

Thank you to those who have already put their name down to help. It would be great to have some new

names appear. Please look at the shifts needed and consider it a fun, and yet productive, way of helping

the school raise funds.

A form will be kept at the office for you to complete your preference. If you have any questions or would

like to volunteer, please contact Tymika in the office or Tim McCrohan.
