Combining literacy within the IB PYP Learner Profile helps to reinforce the profile of a learner and helps your students to gain a deeper understanding of what the Learner Profile means about being a whole learner. These fun, differentiated reading task cards are aligned with the IB PYP and the Common Core State Standards for ELA. Included: •Inferring skills •Questioning •Predicting •Summarising •Cause and Effect •Author’s Purpose •Connection •Synthesising •Main idea •Citing evidence from the text. There are 4 task cards for each trait of the Learner Profile, giving a total of 40 cards. They are designed to be used for text evaluation, analysis and focusing on the skill of reflection and close reading of the text. These task cards can be used in guided reading, small group activities, centres or independent follow up. The cards can be used for written responses and oral responses.
