ExaminationsRegistrations and feesLearners aged 16-18 will not be expected to pay an exam fee. If you are over 19 you may be required to pay an exam fee andregistration fee for your course, these are normally collected atenrolment. Late examination entries, re-sits or changes in your entry may result in a charge. Learners experiencing difficulties with fees should contact the Student Assistance Officer who may be able to help.

1. Course Representative. Course representatives promote learner views and meet regularly with the course team to discuss learning and ideas to improve the course.

2. Learner Surveys. All learners are able to complete learner surveysregularly throughout the year including the new Ofsted ‘LearnerView’ survey which gives you the opportunity to feedback directly toOfsted what you think about Stoke on Trent College. 3. Students’ Union. All learners are welcome to take part in studentunion activities and provide feedback to Union officers. If you areinterested in becoming involved or have any good ideas for student activities, please email [email protected]

4. Student Governors. The college is pleased to have two learners asmembers of the governing body.

5. Staff Star Nomination. Please take a few moments to nominate a member of staff to help us to recognise their work and to thank them for their contribution. Nominations can be made by any College student or visitor.

6. Compliments and Complaints If you are dissatisfied in any waywith the manner in which you have been treated or with the qualityof service provided by the College, you can make a complaint.Complaint forms are available from the Main Reception areas oremail [email protected] or ring on 01782 603136. You can passon a compliment to the Safeguarding / Learner Voice Co-ordinator orany member of staff by letter, email or by filling in a complimentform available from reception. Details of the compliment will beforwarded to the relevant Directorate and presented to the Directorsand the Principal.

7. Student Council. A monthly meeting of course representativesacross all areas focusing on cross college issues.

Safeguarding & SafetyStudent ID BadgesAll staff, students and visitors are required to wear appropriate IDbadges at all times whilst on college premises. Your first ID badge isprovided free of charge, with replacement cards charged at £2.

Health ZonesWe are committed to providing a Healthy College environment andto improve the health and wellbeing of learners and staff. We were one of the first Colleges in the country to be awardedHealthy College Status. Health Zones can be found at both main sites:

Health Zone, First Floor, Learning Resource Centre, Cauldon Campus or B5, Burslem Campus.

If you require minor hospital treatment, your next of kin will becontacted to collect you. If they are not available we will arrange a taxi for you. It will be their responsibility to arrange to collect you from hospital and take you home.

Learner Incentive SchemeThis scheme will ensure that sustained regular attendance by full time16-18 learners is rewarded.All learners will receive a wide range of incentives which will enablethem to participate more fully in the life of the College.

Learners who achieve 100% attendance (cumulative) will receive £50 at the end of each term.Learners who achieve between 90-99% attendance (cumulative) at the end of each term will be able to claim an incentive from within the college including a free meal in the College Restaurant, a freeworkout in the College Fitness Centre and free beauty treatments in the Lifestyle Spa.
