Reiki Symbols

For many generations the practice of Reiki therapy has been utilized to

heal people of various physical and emotional ailments. Reiki therapy

is an ancient practice of focusing ones healing energy on a specific

part of the body. During this exchange of healing energy the hands are

placed on a specific part of the body and the Reiki therapy

practitioner concentrates their energy on healing the afflicted person.

Reiki has long been practiced to bring harmony and peace to ones body

and mind.

While scores of people claim to practice Reiki therapy there are only a

handful of those who have reached the most enlightened stage known as a

Master Reiki. Those who have who have been trained in the healing ways

of Reiki and have reached the highest level of Reiki knowledge often

use Reiki symbols to assist them in healing. They often utilize these

symbols thru concentration and visualization to focus their energy on a

specific task when healing. For many years these symbols were kept a

secret from all but those who were masters of Reiki. One might wonder

why Reiki masters would want to keep these symbols a secret from the

rest of society and what they mean.

So what are the closely guarded Reiki symbols and what do they mean?

Several generations ago it would be next to impossible for one to know

the answer to this question unless they themselves were a Reiki

practitioner of the third degree. Now, the answer to this question is

easily obtained by reading books on Reiki or simply by searching the

internet. These symbols which were once shrouded in mystery have been

revealed to the world for a Reiki practitioner of any level to use.

There are three Reiki symbols that are used by Master practitioners.

The Choku Rei, the Sei He Ki and the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen are the

traditional names for each of these special symbols.

Choku Rei (Reiki Power symbol)

The Choku Rei simply means "Place the power of the universe here". This

Reiki symbol is frequently utilized to assist a Reiki practitioner in

focusing their energy for a specific purpose. If a Reiki master

visualizes or draws the symbol of Choku Rei temporarily increases the

power of the practitioners capacity for healing. Choku Rei can also be

utilized to increase the power of any of the other Reiki symbols as

long as it has been put into use prior to calling on the powers of the

other symbols. In addition to these uses the Choku Rei symbol is often

called upon for its protective capability. Simply visualize this symbol

and direct its energy towards a particular person or group of people

and they will be protected.

Sei He Ki (Mental or Emotional symbol)

The Sei He Ki symbol is one that is used to help align the body and the

mind. Many ailments and other health issues stem from psychological

problems. This symbol is most often translated as the phrase "God and

man become one". Sei He Ki is the symbol that is most widely brought

into use when one is healing someone who is suffering from an addiction

such as those suffering from alcohol or substance abuse problem. This

symbol can also be used when one has lost something important and it

needs to be found. If a reiki master visualizes or draws this symbol

the item can be easily found.

Hon Sha Ze Sho (Distance Healing Symbol)

The meaning of Hon Sha Ze Sho in English is "No past, no present, no

future" or it can have the meaning of "The Buddha in me contacts the

Buddha in you. This symbol is primarily used to for distance healing

in which a Reiki master will focus their positive healing energies

towards a person so that they may be healed of all of their ailments.

The person does not have to be near the practitioner during this time.

A Reiki master can simply first visualize this symbol and then begin to

concentrate their energy towards the afflicted person.

Reiki symbols can be utilized to assist Reiki masters in their craft.

Masters in this field believe that the symbols not to be used by those

who are not advanced practitioners as they are not effective if used by

those who do not have their advanced knowledge.

Reiki masters of healing have ascertained that the usage of these

precious Reiki symbols is best left to the masters of healing as those

who are inexperienced cannot and will not be able to harness their

awesome powers as they may create more harm than good.

Someone recommended this book to me "The Big Book of Reiki Symbols"
