Global Internship Program

If we look into the global current state, following elements are strongly present.

We can see that all Inner journey elements are not strongly present, as well as ‘Purpose of the journey for the society’

Then how can we make GIP experiences better?

Inner Journey - Personal Goal setting

- Increase awareness of one’s impact on the world and on people by doing GIP connect to the purpose of

GIP in this country

- Value Guidance

- Self-reflection guided by AIESEC and company

- Reinvention of oneself guidance by AIESEC and

company

Outer journey

- Purpose of GIP for the country

- Interact with diverse people to achieve the

goal/impact (not necessarily connected to TN

expectations)

- More complex JD

- Clear individual responsibility and Goal

- Support system

1. Raising - Make TN-taker/partner aware of our purpose of the internship: EP’s leadership development - Make sure TN-taker allocates

1 person responsible for the intern for the whole period of internship

-Criteria for JD: EP should have individual responsibility

-Set numerical goals for the internship together with TN-taker

-Fill in all those to TN form: purpose of the internship for society, JD according to the criteria, numerical goal for EP for

internship, with whom EP needs to interact during the internship, whom he is accountable to

2. Delivery -Allocate to the EP a mentor (or learning buddy). It can be any member of LC or alumni, or someone from TN-taker side

-Give education on mentorship to the mentors, explain their role and JD for the period of internship

-Have an expectation-setting call with EP and company: role of each party in the internship, JD, working and living conditions

-Preparation of EP LEAD spaces

3. Reception -Deliver EP LEAD during internship

-Have constant meetings of EP with a mentor – reflection spaces facilitated by mentor

1. Promotion Message of the promotion should set right expectations from the experience, though be attractive to your customers

Make sure every channel has this message (web-site, social media)

Stories you are showcasing should be telling also about personal development as a result of the internship, NOT only cultural

experience or professional development

2. Selection – Is a stage where you need to set right expectations for the experience.

1) During the interview ask following questions:

-What would you like to learn because of this experience?

-What would you like to change in yourself due to this experience?

-How do you think this experience will impact your life?

2) During the interview give an explanation of the purpose of the internship (even if you have any info session for candidates,

make sure you have a brief again during the interview).

3. Preparation for the Experience:

EP LEAD covering – Understand AIESEC and Leadership, Cultural Integration, Personal reflection and goal-setting

4. Reintegration:

Last part of EP LEAD where EPs reflect how they can use this experience for the best of their society
