LE1-C4S1T1-Instructor Guide - Introduction to Career Preparation The Portfolio Purpose The purpose of this lesson is to give you an opportunity to begin career preparation for your future. 1. Describe a portfolio. 2. Explain why creating and maintaining a career portfolio is important. 3. Identify portfolio items. 4. Create a personalized career portfolio. CPS Lesson Questions (1-2) Have you ever written a resume for a job? These questions and many more like them are what you must try to answer in order to prepare for your future. A portfolio is a file that contains an organized collection of student work based on personality, goals, and aspirations. It provides insight and information on a students personal self and a students achievements and/or growth over time. A portfolio is tailored to meet your needs and requirements. It is also designed with colleges, potential scholarships, and future employers in mind. It can also serve as evidence of your accomplishments.
