• The canals are almost dry and subjected to encroachment & siltation; hampering supplementary irrigation and drainage system.

Impacts & Expected Results
a) More than 350 families of which 57 are most vulnerable ultra-poor families (Rishi) will be saved directly from river flood inundation and erosion due to Cyclone event
b) Families will live in healthy environments by using sanitary latrine for better health hygiene
c) Access to the connecting village named Chunkuri through BFS road will facilitate move during disaster.

Vulnerabilities
• Most people have taken shelter on the road side and embankments and are living in a most vulnerable condition being exposed to monsoon rain.
• The people taking shelter on the embankment are experiencing acute shortage of safe drinking water and severe sanitation problem
• Non-availability of drinking water is one of the most crucial and burning problems in Dacope and Shyamnagar since the natural and usual source of water supply (community ponds) is fully disrupted due to inundation by saline water.
