Green Tables: a farm and garden philanthropic initiative of Les Dames

d'Escoffier International

Page 35: LDEI Atlanta Chapter 2015 Annual Business Meeting

Green Tables

• In 2006 Les Dames d'Escoffier International launched "Green Tables" our very own farm-to-fork initiative, to showcase the work of LDEI chapters engaged in linking urban and rural farms and gardens to school, restaurant and kitchen tables. Since then, hundreds of members in most LDEI chapters have donated their time and talents to furthering these values.

Page 36: LDEI Atlanta Chapter 2015 Annual Business Meeting

Green Tables-Atlanta Partners with Wylde Center and Oliver House

• Green Table Committee members work hand-in-hand with members of the Wylde Center presenting monthly classes at the Oliver House: An Assisted Living Community. (decaturhousing.org)

• In 2015 we have provided healthy cooking classes, product identification and tasting workshops; and have planted a community garden. All of which teaches Oliver House residents healthier cooking options and gives them access to fresh produce.

Page 37: LDEI Atlanta Chapter 2015 Annual Business Meeting

Green Tables and Wholesome Wave Georgia

• The Green Tables committee is spearheading a Seasonal Recipe Card initiative with Wholesome Wave Georgia.

• The purpose of these Seasonal Recipe Cards is to promote buying local and eating seasonally .

• Providing consumers with seasonal, simple, and affordable recipes, allows this initiative to showcase the commodities found in each region of Georgia.

• Green Tables has been collecting seasonal Georgia recipes from participating Dames, (which will be printed by GA Grown), and passed out at separate LDEI-Atlanta, Wholesome Wave Georgia, and GA Grown events. (wholesomewavegeorgia.com)
