DETAILED SCHEDULE AND SYLLABUS OF
ARD-LR RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION, 2012
(EXAMINATION CODE: 01/ D/ 2012)
DETAILS OF EXAMINATION:-
Date : The 9th
day of December, 2012 (Sunday)
Time : From 12 Noon to 1.30 PM (1.30 hrs)
Reporting Time : 11.30 AM
Examination Centres : Examination will be conducted in Centres located in Salt Lake, Kolkata
SCHEME & SYLLABUS OF EXAMINATION:-
A. Scheme of Examination: - A Descriptive Written Examination on two papers (Paper-I & II) will be held as
per the following pattern. The examination will be held continuously for 1.30 hr, having no recess in
between.
Part –I : General awareness and Mental ability test (Full Marks : 50) : Time allowed : 45 minutes.

The questions will be of Madhyamik / equivalent standard.
Part-II : Test on Subject (Veterinary Pharmacy/ Prani Sampad Bikash Prashikshan/ Survey Engineering)
[Full Marks: 50] : Time allowed : 45 minutes.
B. The syllabus will be as the following:-

Current syllabus of Two years’ Diploma Course in Veterinary
Pharmacy under Board of Veterinary Education, West Bengal or its
equivalent recognised by the Board of Veterinary Education
Livestock Development
Assistant
Current syllabus of One year Certificate Course on Prani Sampad
Bikash Prashikshan conducted by the Board of Veterinary Education,
West Bengal or its equivalent recognised by the Board of Veterinary
Education, West Bengal.
Surveyor
a) Current syllabus of the course conducted by the West Bengal State
Council of Technical Education for the Diploma in Survey
Engineering (Ref: www.webscte.org) ;
b) Current syllabus of Special emphasis to be given on Plain table
surveying; Chain surveying; Theodolite surveying; Cartographic
drawing; Basic computers; Cadastral surveying; Astronomical
observation; use of Total Station and G.P.S.
No. of questions to be answered: 10 (ten) – each containing 5 marks.

Commission has set up the following minimum qualifying marks for this examination
(out of total marks 100) :-
For General Candidates :- 30 (Thirty)
For BC Candidates :- 25 (Twenty five)
For SC/ ST Candidates :- 20 (Twenty)
Getting minimum qualifying marks as stated above, however, will not ensure selection of any candidate for
the post/ posts he / she has applied for. The selection of candidates will be done purely on the basis of Merit List
prepared as per total marks obtained by them. A candidate shall not be selected even if there remain sufficient
vacant posts, if he / she fail to achieve the minimum qualifying marks as above.
