All of you who must useM 534 to get to gas stations, rocery stores or to any otherlace of business are probablyondering why you are stalledut waiting for road crewsearly every day. I wonderedhy FM 534 was being re-one for what seems like theth time in the past 15 years. Ialled and left a message withomeone named Robin, who
eft no message other than myame and phone number, so Iad to repeat my reason foralling to the man who re-urned my call, a man who onlydentified himself as Tomas. Itounded like DeMoss. (I dontnow whether that is his firstame or last name. Perhaps henly has one name.) This was aot like visiting a doctor, wherehe nurse asks you a bunch ofuestions and then the doctorsks you the same questionsecause the doctor believesou wont tell the truth to onef them (probably the nurse)nd they can catch you in a lie.
Having worked for State ofexas agencies and school dis-ricts, heres what I haveearned about budgeting. Whenn agency or any department ofny government-funded entityrepares a budget for the fol-owing year, always asking forver-increasing amounts ofoney of course, if that entity
f government has not spentvery single cent of the currentears budget, the futureudget will be reduced, defi-itely not increased. Therefore,ou find ways to spend everyime, even if you do not actu-
lly need to do so. Then the en-ity pads the new budgetequest by at least ten percent, oping to get at least the cur-ent budget amount. After all, ithout money, your power is
educed. With more money, ore power. So when Tomas called I ex-
lained to him that it appearedhat TxDot was widening FM34 but not widening theridges. I explained that I amick and tired of dealing withhis road work every two orhree years and asked just ex-ctly what the point is ofidening the road and leaving
he bridges just as they are. Iold him how scary it can be topproach one of those bridges
hen an 18-wheeler is ap-roaching from the other side.e said he had spoken withnthony Villareal who is in
harge of bridges in the areand that Villareal said ourridges were not eligible foreplacement. Apparently, rom what Tomas said, aridge is only eligible for re-lacement when it can noonger support its load rating.o, as long as no huge heavy
ruck falls through a bridge ren-ering it unusable, it is not el-
gible for replacement. (Thatsunny. I thought a large portionf fees and taxes I pay were forridges.)
Then I asked Tomas whatas the point of widening the
oad but not the bridges. Heeplied that there were reportsf people going off the roadnd that by widening it themargin of error was im-roved. The only people I per-onally know of who havegone off the road in the areahere the work is being doneere under the influence ofrugs, alcohol or both. I knowf another man who almost
ent off the road because of alick layer of mud on the road.
hen I mentioned these issueso Tomas and explained it wasriver error and not the fact thathe road was too narrow, heidnt have the figures on theauses for people going off theoad but agreed that most ofhem were probably drunkrivers. I asked him where theargin of error was on the
ridges. He couldnt answerhat. So, finally I told him I un-erstood. I understood he hado find a place to spend avail- ble money so he could get
ore of it next year. It reallyas nothing to do with safety. It
has nothing to do with anythingbut spending tax dollars to keepthe bureaucrats in business.(After all, all government agen-cies at every level are in busi-ness to perpetuate themselvesand for each agencys employ-ees to keep their highly over-paid jobs.) I closed with tellinghim that I did not know how aman could in good consciencework for such a non-sensical
bureaucracy. Of course, I knowthe answer: He is being paid farmore than he could possibly getpaid using the same knowledgeor skill set in the private sector.

The Presidential election of2012 has the political world ina battle between the GOP tonominate someone who couldessentially beat Obama. Themainstream-media-complexhas taken it upon themselvesto present you with only twopossible candidates: Mitt Rom-ney and Newt Gingrich. Whatthe mainstream-media doesnttell you is that Gingrich andRick Santorum are not eligible
for 564 of the 2,286 delegatesawarded. 1,144 delegates willsecure a candidate the Republi-can Nomination.
Every four years our countryfocuses on the Presidentialelection, its usually the high-est voter turnout than any otherelection, national or local. Most folks pay no mind to whorepresent them in Washington, and it is mostly for those that Iwrite these words.
When I learned and could ac-tually understand the purposeof government, I saw how far beyond our Constitution wehave gone. One under-lookedaspect of the decline of our Re- public is the decay of theUnited States Senates job to preserve State Sovereignty. One way to preserve our StateSovereignty is through theoriginal intent of the Constitu-tion as to how Senators areelected; disregarding the 17thAmendment.
Senators were originally ap-pointed via State legislatures torepresent a State as a whole.States lost that representationwith the ratification of the 17thAmendment which allowed thedirect election of a U.S. Sena-
tor as opposed to an appoint-ment by the State legislatures. In the Texas U.S. Senate race
there is a candidate who hasfought tirelessly against theWorld Court to uphold U.S.Sovereignty and stop the pres-ident from enforcing the WorldCourts decision onto the Stateof Texas.
In the Texas U.S. Senate racethere is a candidate who foughtfor the State to have a TenCommandments monument.
In the Texas U.S. Senate racethere is one candidate who haswon in straw polls with an av-erage margin of 42%. This can-
didate is Ted Cruz.Cruzs interest with politics
began when he understood thegreatness of America that hisfather worked hard to achieve.During Cruzs high schoolyears, he was enrolled in a pro-gram where the participantshad to write an abridged ver-sion of the Constitution frommemory. Cruz was so intriguedwith the Constitution and theoriginal intent of the structureof government that his Prince-ton thesis was based on the 9thand 10th Amendments.
Not only has Cruz fought forU.S. and State Sovereignty, he
is an avid opponent to theUnited Nations Agenda 21
whose goal is to strip landfrom the population, housingthe people in sustainable de-velopments where human ac-tivity is strictly monitored andrestricted.
Cruz stands in opposition of
the 2011 NDAAs section1021, where American citizenscan be detained indefinitely ifdeemed a terrorist by the exe-cute branch. However, Cruzalso supports some elements ofthe PATRIOT Act. Mr. Cruzfeels that enemies and terroristof the United States must beswiftly dealt with. During the2000 Presidential bid for theWhite House, Cruz served asthe domestic policy advisor tothe Bush campaign. Mr. Cruzsthoughts on the PATRIOT Actworry me a bit, although I willsay that his defiance of the NDAA goes to show his ac-knowledgment of the outra-geous breach of ourConstitutionally protectedRights.
In 2003 Cruz became TexasState Solicitor General, duringwhich he defended StatesRights to nullify an attempt bythe executive branch to enforcethe verdict of the World Court. It is quite impressive to saythat someone who advised theBush campaign on domesticpolicy would end up fightingthe same administration onStates Rights and the power ofthe executive branch.
We can only hope that if weelect a candidate like Cruz thathe would fulfill all his prom-ises, leading us to a more pros-perous Nation. There are manyreservations to send anotherlawyer to Washington and Idont blame the reluctance;however, here we have alawyer who doesnt lobby formore control by the federalgovernment. I cannot say forsure if Cruz will stick to hiscampaign rhetoric if elected, but judging by his record I cangive him the benefit of thedoubt that he will accomplishmany a great things if honored
with the senatorial seat. The other major candidate in
the race for Hutchisons U.S.Senate seat is Texas LieutenantGovernor David Dewhurst. Imust say that Lt. Gov. De-whursts infamous record ofkilling bills in the State Senatesuch as ending sanctuary citiesor stopping the TransportationSecurity Administrations un-constitutional searches (pat-downs), does not sound likethe record I would appreciateof my U.S. Senator.
Dewhursts campaign is based on the idea that hismulti-million net worth will
assure him the Senate seat;however, when a candidate passes on many forums tomeet-and-greet the voters, thenthe candidate loses credibilityin a race. Over 90% of thestraw polls taken for the Sen-ate seat have graciously fa-vored candidate Ted Cruz.
The Cruz campaign sings aclear message of conservative beliefs and the determinationto drive the conservativemovement back to the Consti-tution. The Cruz Agenda hasdenounced Obamas unconsti-

There are many Texans outthere today who are very angry
about Obamacare, Cap and
Trade, NDAA, the Rural
Council the Patriot Act and a
whole host of other federal
government abuses. Every day
we hear about our rights being
stripped from us, and we do
not even know how many
rights are taken away that we
do not even hear about.
Additionally, the entire re-
districting battle on-going in
Texas which has caused us
unknown primary dates has
essentially been caused by thefederal government. Our re-
districting is really none of
their business!
As a result of our anger,
many have been talking of
state nullification of such
atrocities as the Obamacare
bill and other abuses, but noth-
ing has actually been done.
Others speak in hushed and no-
so-hushed tones about seces-
sion of the State of Texas from
the United States. People from
other states also talk about se-
cession.
Texas, along with most of the
south and much of the midwest
have apparently entirely differ-
ent concerns and beliefs about
the federal government than do
the west coast states and many
northern states. If several states
with common goals and inter-
ests seceded, forming a very
light union with minimal
central government, all those
Democrat states can have each
other and continue to head to-
wards bigger and bigger failed
government with no rich folks
left to pay out all the welfare to
the rest.
What might happen if Texasand/or other states were to se-
cede? (First, realize that the se-
cession of the Confederate
States in the 19th century was
over states rights and the north-
ern states abuses of the south.
The conditions were much like
they are today.) More than
likely, since Obama has al-
ready stated that he thinks Lin-
coln was great president and he
likened himself to Lincoln,
Obama would probably de-
clare war on any state that se-
Secession and
Nullification
ceded. Whether he would win
or not is somewhat debatable.
It would depend largely on
whether Texas (and/or other
states) active duty military
would be willing to fightagainst their own people or
would instead desert the U. S.
military establishment and
fight on behalf of their state(s).
It would also depend on
whether there enough real Tex-
ans left in Texas to support
such a move.
There are presently a few se-
cessionist organizations out
there who insist that secession
can be done entirely peace-
fully. Maybe it can be. I cer-
tainly would hope so. The
Obama administration is cer-
tainly afraid of Texas (except
maybe Austin, certain parts of
Dallas and certain parts of
Houston)
If it cannot be done peace-fully, Texas and/or other states
might lose and face the same
awful fate the south faced after
the first War of Northern Ag-
gression --evil and relentless
martial law. Whatever might
be the consequences, I think
its time for Texans to draw a
line in the sand and stand up
against the thugs in Washing-
ton, fire all Texas elected offi-
cials and start overElizabeth Wallace

Just how free are you today?
Guess you have noticed that
gas has zoomed up! So who
you gonna call? Ghost Busters,
Obama, Hinojosa? Oh! Yeah
they are going to help you.
Right!! So goes that fantasy.
Well, Cowboys and Cowgirls
the time is soon coming to
where we will have over $6.00
er gallon ($5.99 is still $6 to
me). Then what? Well, before
we have the elections for a new
resident, those prices will
drop and we will be such
grateful to this Obama presi-
dent, that you are going to run
out and vote him in!
Does that sound like you.
Regardless of your party fa-
vorite, the money runs out! Itmay not really run out cause
that President still has some,
your congressman still has
some but you will have almost
zero (even if you have $1000.
For one weeks groceries, what
are you going to buy?), be-
cause either you cannot afford
it, the food supply is so mini-
mal you cannot buy it or it is
rationed by the Federal Gov-
ernment. Yes, I am making this
statement, as I lived and re-
member the days of what is re-
ferred to as The Depression
from the 1920's, lived thruWWII, and all the other crap
that this Federal Government
has had us go through, and it is
time for We The People to go
to that voting booth and vote
for Freedom, Liberty for all,
and for our government to get
ack in line with what our
Constitution requires it to be!
You deserve more, and you can
have more. Just pick yourself
up by the bootstraps and create
yourself a job, and it can grow
into a business to be so very
proud of, and support your
family, have some kids who
can learn the business and keep
it going. Not all of us have to
go to college, just to a good
school that actually teaches the
basics of learning...example:
how to comprehend what you
have just read. Maybe that
should be a requirement for
voting. We have to do some-
thing that will give us the
ability to see that it is up to
each one to chose what we de-
termine to be for our life and
go far it.
You ask, What if I dont
make it. I say keep trying! I
know you are not a fool for try-
ing just an idiot for not keep-ing on with your vision! None
of this comes quickly to you
and if it does, you may need to
look at your resources and
make sure you do not have
some type of loan shark hiding
amongst the dollars you have
acquired. Remember nothing
good comes easy, but then
again you get to keep what is
actually yours...so keep up the
hard work! Do not become the
fool!
Back to this voting in No-
vember 2012 for our officials.
Have you ever checked howthey have voted on any of the
issues that may concern you?
Did they vote for more money
for food stamps, or any other
TANEF benefits? Well, if, for
example, you are on food
stamps and they did vote for
that and you had a big increase
is your benefit. Guess you are
really happy? But now look a
little further down the street.
What happens when all the
people who pay into this fund
(other taxpayers) also land on
bad times and they go to get
food stamps and they do and
everyone is happy, right! Wait,
it is now a year later and now
who is putting money in cof-fers for your food stamps since
the one who was doing it is
also now on food stamps?
Soon no one will be putting
anything into food stamps or
TANEF, and where does the
money come from now?
Great question! Since the
governments only get funding
from you and me and we are
not putting any money back
into the system where does the
government get the money?
(Meaning we do not pay any
taxes). Right the government
just prints up some more
money. (That means here
comes price hikes) and the
cost of food is so high that
even the increased amount the
government has given you
now buys much less food than
before you got the food stamp
increase, right! So, another
year comes around and this
country is in shambles, cause
everyone is in need of food
stamps, and the government
can print more money but
what does that mean?
Well, just as any good com-munist infiltrator knows...It is
time to take over this country,
because the people are hungry,
afraid of whatever, willing to
lick the shoes of the invaders
(also know as kiss the rear-end
of the new Master) and will
not even desire any FREE-
DOM, or Liberty. They know
that the masses of people will
allow this horrible take over of
your country. Do not stand by
and allow that to happen to
you, your family, neighbors, or

Regardless of the eventsthat do unfold after the immi-
nent Mayan apocalypse, theyear 2012 will be one forworld history books, if they dostill exist. The calamity that isthe Euro, our own fiat cur-rency being constantly devalu-ated by the feds setting interestrates leaving the economy inshambles, and of course, thepurported threat of Iran acquir-ing a nuclear weapon. Muchfocus has been concentrated ona threat of a nuclear Iran;however, Iran has denied itsresearch and uranium enrich-ment program as a move to-wards nuclear weaponry. Iranadamantly claims that their en-
richment program is for the ad-vancement in cancer regimentsand is in accordance with the Nuclear Non-ProliferationTreaty (NPT). The NPT is aUnited Nations treaty signed by nuclear member countriesto promote cooperation of peaceful nuclear purposes;with a further goal of completedisbarment of nuclearweapons.
Three of the four Republi-can Presidential Candidatessubscribe to the idea thatAmerica must not removefrom the table military actiontowards Iran in an attempt tostop the Islamic Republic fromacquiring nuclear weapons. From the social conservativeRick Santorum to the Massa-chusettss moderate Mitt Rom-ney, and who can forget aboutMr. I-want- a-moon-base NewtGingrich; all three have calledfor more than economic sanc-tions on Iran. They seek moreaggressive covert actions andthe possibility of backing Is-raeli-led preemptive attacks onIran.
Now-a-days it has becomequite convenient to join theranks of the Republican estab-
lishments idea of AmericanExceptionalism. It is nowmuch easier to wrap ourselvesin the Flag and simply de-clare our actions appropriateregardless of the conse-quences. The pride of any na-tion is held by the People;however, the sad truth is thatgovernments no longer repre-sent the People. Today, mostelected servants serve thosethat make major contributionsto their cause. I point this outbecause it is imperative to re-member that the actions of acountry do not always reflectthe voice of the People. Also,
that when I speak of a country,I am specifically referring tothe government of the countryand not the People.
The main reason why theRepublican establishment re-fuses to accept Ron Pauls for-eign policy is all due to the factthat, as Americans, we cannot bring ourselves to admit thatour Great Country is capableof such horrendous acts. Thestrength that is the U.S. mili-tary has, over the past decades, been the means to overtake acountry and secure its re-sources. Military action on acountry, whether overt or
covert, has led to many civil-ian deaths abroad. Your localnews does not tell you that theU.S. is constantly bombingterrorist sanctuaries whichhave turned out to be every-thing from funerals to residentdwellings. They dont tell youthis for the same reason whynobody likes to know how asteak gets to your plate. All wewant is the bloody-sweet-and-savory taste of victory.I love my country as much asany other patriot, however, aTrue Patriot, a humble soul candecisively stand for liberty re-gardless of the establishmentrhetoric. In the beginning of achange, the Patriot is a scarceman, brave, hated, andscorned. When his cause suc-ceeds however, the timid joinhim, for then it costs nothing tobe a Patriot, said Mark Twain. When you understand libertyand God-given rights, then youwill understand that we, as acountry, do not have the rightto infringe on another coun-trys sovereignty. Whats Wrong
With this Pictureby Gwen Guyser
If I were ten years old today
rather than in the 1950's, mymother would have been im-
prisoned for child abuse, and
my brothers and sisters and I
would all have been sent off to
foster homes. Why do I say
that? Because my mother made
our lunches each and every
day, and those lunches did not
have enough vegetables (ac-
cording to the federal govern-
ment), included mayonnaise
and sugary homemade choco-
late chip cookies and did not
include USDA-approved Big
Agra processed foods such as
chicken nuggets. My lunch
was exactly the same every
day: one tuna fish sandwich,
one salami sandwich, one
boiled egg, two homemade
cookies and a half an apple or
grapefruit. Despite the fact that
we were poor by todays fed-
eral government standards,
Mother gave us each 7 cents
each day to purchase a half pint
of milk and a 4 oz. cup of ice
cream. There were no free
lunches at school, no free
breakfast. Why did she get up
at 5:30 every morning to fix us
breakfast and make our
lunches? The food served atschool by the cafeteria was 1)
considered by my mother as
being unhealthy, and 2) consid-
ered by my siblings and me as
some sort of strange and un-
palatable food, nothing like
what we ate at home, and 3) at
35 cents per lunch, it was far
more than our family could af-
ford when the total family in-
come was about $250 per
month before taxes, and there
were five children. I would
probably have been kicked out
of school for trading my noto-
riously good chocolate cookiesfor an extra ice cream cup.
Other reasons the above sce-
nario might have happened?
We were allowed to play
around the neighborhood, go to
the park by ourselves, and ex-
pected to respect all the bound-
aries set out for us, such as Go
to the park only with a brother
or sister, or Call me if you
get hurt. For about an hour
and a half each day after
school, we were HOME
ALONE, with no adult super-
vision and with me, at age nine
and ten being the oldest childat home. Whats worse, we
walked or rode our bikes to
school because we hated riding
the bus with all the hooligans.
Even then, awful things hap-
pened on school buses. School
was a mile and half from
home.
Sometimes, while home
alone, we injured ourselves,
but we knew what to do. If it
was serious, such as in a bro-
ken bone, we knew to go to the
mom next door and knew she
would take care of us until our
mother came home. If it was
just a scrape or minor cut, we
knew all about cleaning the
wound, applying Campho
Phenique and a bandage, usu-
ally made from old clean rags
and a piece of adhesive tape
because ready-made bandages
were too expensive.
In todays world, the school
would deem our lunches as not
meeting federal standards.
When my sister broke her arm
jumping off a sawhorse and
pretending to fly like Super-
man, the school would proba-
bly call CPS to investigate as to
why my sister was unsuper-
vised and hurt herself as an
eight-year-old while ourmother was not home.
Now it gets worse: On school
holidays, Mother gave us a dol-
lar to buy hotdogs or ham-
burger meat and gave us
matches so we could go out to
the woods behind the house,
build a fire and cook out. She
also gave each of us, both boys
and girls, a pocket knife at
about age seven or eight. We
rode our bikes all over the
place, playing cops and rob-
bers and cowboys and Indi-
ans on bicycles, with no
helmets, yet we have all livedto tell about it. Sure we had our
accidents, and I still have the
scars, but the freedom we all
had led to our becoming re-
sponsible, creative, competi-
tive and productive citizens.
We were responsible. We were
taught what the boundaries of
behavior were and respected
them. We were not allowed to
play with children whose par-
ents did not enforce or respect
boundaries of behavior.
In todays schools, there are
no choices for truly healthy
lunches. Who knows better? The federal government? or a
childs own parents? The gov-
ernment is simply pushing
phoney food produced by Big
Agra, leading eventually to
poor health and subsequent in-
tervention by drug-prescribing
doctors and Big Pharma. What
business is it of the government
to tell you your child should be
in a special car seat? What
business is if for the govern-
ment to force you buy a bicy-
cle helmet for your child?
What business is it of the gov-
ernment to intervene in child-
raising? What business is it of
the government to order vac-
cines for children? These are
the decisions that should be
made by parents alone. Sure,
there are always going to be ir-
responsible parents raising ir-
responsible and damaged
children, but government inter-
vention simply makes these is-
sues worse, not better.

Sense
Why is it that people who
call themselves "Christian"
confuse marriage sanctified by
their church and civil mar-
riage? Why do they honor
"Justice of the Peace" mar-
riages of a man and a woman
the same as they do "church
weddings." Why do they seem
to think the civil rights that
come with marriage in this
country are "ordained by
God." Why does civil law give
all sorts of rights to married
couples (one man and one
woman) to the exclusion of
gays living in a committed,
"marriage-like" relationship or
to any same-sex life relation-
ship? Lets see, a man and a
woman living together seem tohave more rights than any two
same-sex pair living together,
as the man and woman (in
Texas, at least) may simply
agree that they are married, tell
others that they are married
and receive at least one bill to
Mr. and Mrs. and be com-
mon-law married. Also,
felons in prison, pedophiles,
murderers and sociopaths can
marry and receive the civil
law benefits of marriage, but
law-abiding gays cannot. Why
do these folks think that what
they perceive as sinful shouldbe legislated?
Worse, why is it that there
are voters out there who seem
to think that all our countrys
woes are because of abor-
tion/contraception issues and
gay marriage issues, rather
than the real problems of Pro-
gressivism, the Federal Re-
serve and excessive
government spending? These
are the people who vote for
Rick Santorum in the primar-
ies. These are people who can-
not reason and perhaps cannot
read or write and do not under-
stand the huge problems this
country faces in terms of eco-
nomic issues, foreign policy,
gargantuan government con-
trol and rampant socialism and
fascism.
I am beginning to think that
only people who can read and
write English should be al-
lowed to vote. In fact, I am
thinking a reading comprehen-
sion test should be required of
everyone when first applying
for voter registration. Why do
we allow people who cannot
read or write in English (and
often not in any languagewhatsoever) the right to vote?
How do they decide on which
candidate to choose? The per-
son who they think will give
them the most government
freebies? The person some guy
who takes them to the polls
tells them to vote for? The
person some guy who buys
them a BBQ dinner and beer
tells them to vote for? The guy
the mainstream media televi-
sion tells them to vote for?
Why is it that the 51% of
Americans who pay no taxes
can vote for how the rest of ushave to allocate our money?
Why does our government
(and insurance companies, as a
result) consider pregnancy an
illness? Why do I pay, via
taxes and high insurance rates,
for pregnancy benefits? If you
don't have the money to have a
baby, do what is needed not to
have one. Why do they want to
use my tax dollar to provide
birth control and abortion to
women who live uncontrolled
lives? "No" is supposed to
mean "no," and I cannot be-
lieve that all these womenseeking birth control and/or
abortions don't know how ba-
bies are born. "If you are going
to play, you gotta pay."
Why do people who want the
federal government to outlaw
abortion and keep Catholic
agencies from requirements of
providing contraception con-
sider this an infringement on
their faith? After all, many
Muslims in American want
"honor killings" to be legal.
What's the difference? Both
are religious zealots wanting
the government to pass laws
that support their religious be-
liefs or to be relieved of fol-
lowing the law.
Why does the government
seem to believe it knows what
is best for childrens lunches at
school? Why do parents even
allow their children to eat
lunch served up by the notori-
ously dreadful school cafete-
rias, mandated by the USDA,
heavily in bed with the huge
conglomerate food production
corporations.
Why does the Obama Admin-
istration say the economy is
improving? Its cost-of-living
indicators do not include food
and gasoline, the two itemsthat affect us most. The fig-
ures do include such non-ne-
cessities as electronics,
washing machines and cell
phones.
Why does the Obama Ad-
minstration say that unemploy-
ment figures are going down,
when they only count the peo-
ple who have applied for un-
employment benefits? They
dont count people who have
quit looking for a job, become
self-employed or people
whose unemployment benefits
have run out, or people whoare living on the streets? Of
course, they are scamming the
stupid among us into believing
Obamas Good, Obamas
Great, Let us thank him for our
food. We should reword that:
Obamas Bad, Obama thinks
hes Great. Lets detest him for
our FATE.
Why did both mainstream
and not-so-mainstream media
not report that Ron Paul was in
a statistical tie in the Maine
primary? Could it be because
the powers who want Neo-
Con, RINO, Romney-Gin-grich-Santorum in office just
in case Obama loses? The stu-
pidest candidate is Santorum.
The career candidate who has
nearly no actual productive
work experience is Romney.
The candidate who could do
better than both of them, but
not much, is Gingrich. The
only candidate who can some
close to saving America is the
unmentionable Ron Paul. The
mainstream Republicans, the
Democrats, the Socialists, the
Progressive and Communists
are terrified of Ron Paul.
Why is health care called
health care, when it is obvi-
ously disease/symptom care
or Big Pharma promoted by
its drug pushers (doctors)?
Why is it that the disease-ori-
ented organizations, such as
the AHA, ADA, ACS and Big
Pharma spend so much money
to keep true health-care
providers, such as natur-
opaths, from legitimately prac-
ticing health care?
Why do rich people get huge
tax-payer funded rebates for
buying a Chevy Volt when I
cannot even afford to drive mypickup truck to the gas station
and back?
Why, when I go to the gas
station in Orange Grove, do
they limit my purchase to $75?
Valero says its the fault of my
bank. My bank says its the
fault of Valero. So, who is re-
ally behind this? It sort of
smells like gas rationing.
Why, when I make too
much money to be on Medi-
caid yet cannot afford
Medicare Part B or Advantage,
am I paying more for Medicare
Part B, Medicare Advantageand co-pays than I have ever
paid for any kind of insurance
in my life? Nearly 25% of my
Social Security income goes to
pay for Medicare Part B. What
am supposed to use for gro-
ceries or my house payment?
Somehow I had always be-
lieved I was going to get better
and cheaper medical care
when I became 65 years old.
"Whenever destroyers appear among
men, they start by destroying money, for
money is men's protection and the base of
a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold
and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile
of paper. This kills all objective standards
and delivers men into the arbitrary power
of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold was
an objective value, an equivalent of wealth
produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth
that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed
at those who are expected to produce it.
Paper is a check drawn by legal looters
upon an account which is not theirs: upon
the virtue of the victims. Watch for the
day when it bounces, marked, 'Account
overdrawn.'"

East, yet when we hear thatthese countries have retaliated,
the news is usually labeled asan attack rather than retribu-tion.
Pauls foreign policy is not based on isolationism; it is based on the belief of diplo-macy and free trade. Perhaps ifwe were not constantly occu- pying other countries, thenmaybe, our country, and ourname will not be spited. Pauland many like-minded libertar-ians endorse this view becausenon-aggression is paramount todiplomacy. Pakistan has nu-clear weapons and is accusedby the U.S. as abetting Amer-icas number one enemy:
Osama bin Laden. If the threatof terrorists is the reason whywe must give up privacy anddue process, then why hasAmerica not threatened mili-tary action on Pakistan? Couldit be that Pakistan has nuclearweapons, and America is re-luctant to overtly attack Pak-istan? Paul has said that hedoes not want to see Iran get anuclear weapon, but if they do,maybe they would get more re-spect.
The act of aggression andtaking the role of the worlds policemen has become themain cause of much hatredfrom Middle Eastern Muslims. How would we feel if the ISIwas bombing an apartmentcomplex on a corner block toeliminate Al-Qaeda membersor if the Mossad were linked tothe assassination of a U.S. nu-clear scientist? What wouldwe think if we found ourselvesunder hostile occupation whilebeing told that they are here tohelp?
When Paul got booed bySouth Carolinians after he ad-dressed the old proverb: dounto others as you would wantto be done to you; my heart
sank for my country. The ideathat any American agenda canbe justified based solely on thefact that America is the mostprosperous country in history, brings disappoint when theagenda does not advance lib-erty.
Republican PresidentialCandidate Rick Santorumclaims that Iran has aggres-sively acted towards Americaever since the 79 hostage cri-sis. Well the truth is that theU.S. has been involved eversince the overthrow of Mo-hammad Mossadegh in 1953.Dr. Mossadegh backed legisla-
tion that would nationalize theIranian oil industry, with thehopes of Iranians netting morethan the 16% of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company agree-ment. The British werent tookeen on allowing Iraniansmore profits for oil production;this led to the British convinc-ing then Secretary of StateJohn Dulles, that Irans coop-eration with the Soviets wouldlead to the expansion of com-munism in the region. With thethreat of communism, Eisen-hower allowed for the oustingof Mossadegh.
So, to rebut the former Sen-
ators notions that Iran hascaused the aggression seems a bit nave when you factor inevery covert operation exe-cuted by our CIA, military, andproxy militant groups. The as-sassination of many Iranian nu-clear scientists can be traced backed to CIA and Mossadagents. As a matter of fact, thelatest assassination (January11, 2012) of a nuclear scientistcan be linked to Mossad agentsposing as CIA. A passing mo-torcyclist stuck a magneticbomb to the car that the Iranianscientist occupied.
February 13, 2012 Israel hasblamed Iran for the attemptedassassination of Israeli diplo-mats in India and Georgia. Theattempt in Tsilibi, in the formerSoviet Republic of Georgia, was unsuccessful when thedriver noticed a black bag onthe cars undercarriage whichturned out to be a bomb. A paper published by theAmerican Medical Associa-tion's Virtual Mentor is con-cerned that current enrollmentin vaccine trials is extremelylow. The proposed solution?
Creating a federal law thatwould force each individual tomake a "mandated choice" toparticipate in vaccine trials.
Such a law would give drugcompanies a more or less guar-
anteed supply of human guineapigs.
According to the featuredpaper:
"... The lack of animalmodels that can reliably pre-
dict vaccine efficacy means
that development still unavoid-
ably relies on testing of novel
vaccines in healthy individu-
als...In recent decades there
has been a distressing decline
in the numbers of healthy vol-
unteers who participate in
clinical trials, a decline that
has the potential to become akey rate-limiting factor in vac-
cine development.
... The modest financial
remuneration commonly pro-vided often means that students
and the unemployed make up
the bulk of volunteers.
As a result, the risks of de-
veloping a health intervention
that would benefit the wholepopulation are carried dispro-
portionately by some of soci-
ety's most poor and
vulnerable.
This is a situation fewwould judge to be fair or ethi-
cal. Compulsory involvement
in vaccine studies is one alter-
native solution that is not as
outlandish as it might seem on
first consideration.Many societies already
mandate that citizens under-
take activities for the good of
society; in several European
countries registration fororgan-donation has switched
from "opt-in" (the current U.S.
system) to "opt-out" systems...
and most societies expect citi-
zens to undertake jury servicewhen called upon...
Mandatory involvement in
vaccine trials is... perhaps
more akin to military conscrip-
tion... In both conscription and
obligatory trial participation, individuals have little or no
choice regarding involvement
and face inherent risks over
which they have no control, all
for the greater good of soci-ety."
Medical Tyranny of the
Worst Kind!
From my perspective, theidea of compulsory involve-ment in vaccine trials "for thegreater good of society" is not
only outlandish, it's a completeabomination. It's tyranny of theworst kind, and the epitome ofa heartless system based onbroken ethics. Sadly, there aresigns that we're already slidingin that direction. For example, consider the fact that the USgovernment has already ok'dthe testing of the incrediblycontroversial and dangerousanthrax vaccine on infants. And the fact that when 14 ba- bies died in an Argentineanvaccine trial, the drug com- pany, GlaxoSmithKline, was
fined a measly $250,000.Again and again, we see that
life is not valued as highly asthe prospects or promises of fi-nancial profits... Human ex-perimentation -- the practice ofsubjecting live human beingsto science experiments that aresometimes cruel, painful, ordeadly -- is a shameful part ofU.S. history that you won'tfind in most history or sciencebooks. But it is a practice thatis still continuing to this day,and if Susanne Sheehy and
Joel Meyer, the authors of thefeatured paper, have anythingto say about it, medical exper-imentation on ALL infantswould not only be possible, itwould be mandatory! Folks, this is an absolute nightmare;one that I hope will never ac-tually come to fruition.
Know Your Rights!
While you may one dayhave to opt out of vaccine trialsfor your child, we're not quitethere yet. However, you doneed to educate yourself aboutyour rights when it comes to
vaccinating your child. Thereare currently three differenttypes of exemptions you canuse to avoid vaccinations of allkinds: Religious exemption,Medical exemption,Philosoph-ical/conscientious exemption
Unfortunately, the religiousexemption is being targeted forelimination by lobbyists work-ing for pharmaceutical corpo-rations and medical tradeassociations funded byPharma. In some states, like New York, parents are beinggrilled about the sincerity oftheir religious beliefs by state
officials and denied religiousexemptions to vaccination forthe purpose of barring theirpartially vaccinated or unvac-cinated children from attend-ing public schools.
All 50 states allow a medicalexemption to vaccination ifyou or your child has a verifi-able medical reason to defer oravoid use of one or more vac-cines. However, the U.S. Cen-ters for Disease Control andPrevention (CDC) and Ameri-can Academy of Pediatrics(AAP) have eliminated mostof the officially recognized
contraindications for vaccina-tion, to the point that almost nomedical condition qualifies fora medical exemption to vacci-nation...
Still, depending on whereyou live, you may have the op-tion of using a philosophical orconscientious belief exemp-tion. This exemption, like thereligious exemption, is underattack by forced vaccination proponents. Only 18 states(listed below) still allow con-scientious, personal or philo-sophical belief exemption tovaccination. These states come
the closest to protecting a citi-zen's right to exercise volun-tary, informed consent tovaccination in America:Arizona, California , ColoradoIdaho, Louisiana, M a i n e ,Michigan, Minnesota, NewMexico, North Dakota, Ohio,Oklahoma, Rhode Island,Texas, Utah, Vermont, Wash-ington, Wisconsin. What You Can Do to Make a
Difference
While it seems "old-fash-ioned," the only truly effectiveactions you can take to protectthe right to informed consentto vaccination and expand vac-cine exemptions, is to get per-sonally involved with yourstate legislators and the leadersin your community.
Think Globally, Act Locally.
Mass vaccination policiesare made at the federal levelbut vaccine laws are made atthe state level, and it is at thestate level where your action to protect your vaccine choicerights can have the greatest im-pact.

Jane Cross, a lifelong Rio
Grande Valley resident who
lives in Edinburg, filed on Dec.14, 2011 to seek the Demo-
cratic nomination for the Con-
gressional seat now held by
U.S. Rep. Ruben Hinojosa.
The primary date to be an-
nounced.
Ms. Cross, a longtime com-
munication instructor who has
taught at the University of
Texas Pan American and South
Texas College, has kicked off
her campaign with a common
sense outlookseeking to
ring fiscal responsibility, ac-
countability and respectability
ack to Washington.
Jane Cross, also known
lovingly by many as Juanita
Cruz, sees herself as an every-
day citizen who wants to serve
in Washington to clean
House when elitist politicians
are mismanaging the peoples
House of Representatives so
adly that Congress has earned
a record-low approval rating
from the American people. She
is running for Congress under
Get Out Of Our House, or
GOOOH, a national program
that encourages grassroots
Americans to seek elected of-
fice.Im not afraid to get my
hands dirty Ill roll up my
sleeves and show up for
work, Jane says.
Fred Mann, a UTPA profes-
sor, said of Jane: Its about
time we get somebody not
there to make a buck: Clean up
the place, Jane! Best wishes.
This is a humbling experi-
ence for me and I am proud to
represent my district, however
the court decides to define the
districts boundaries, Jane
added. I am not a lifelong or
career politician. I care about
the people and will listen towhat they want. I care about
managing our money. I care
about taking back America for
the working peoplethe tax-
paying middle class. I believe
that Congress must set an ex-
ample of the highest standards.
I will not take advantage of the
office as so many have done in
the past. I will pay my taxes
and my bills. I am not an elit-
ist.
Jane added, I am just like
you and will not accept special
treatment. I certainly will not
demand it like so many inCongress do. I do not believe
someone is special because
they are a member of Con-
gress. I believe a Congressman
is a servant Of the people.
Congressmen do not deserve
special-interest treatment or
preferential programs that We
the People do not have access
to. I know there are others in
this country, like me, who care
about We the People. And
we can do something about it
now.
I ask you to vote for me,
Jane Cross for Congress, in the

can take back America, For the

A DOG used to run up quietly
o the heels of everyone he
et, and to bite them without
otice. His master suspended
bell about his neck so that the
og might give notice of his
resence wherever he went.
hinking it a mark of distinc-
ion, the Dog grew proud of his
ell and went tinkling it all
ver the marketplace. One dayn old hound said to him: Why
o you make such an exhibi-
ion of yourself? That bell that
ou carry is not, believe me,
ny order of merit, but on the
ontrary a mark of
isgrace, a public notice to all
en to avoid you as an ill
annered dog."
oral: Notoriety is often
istaken for fame.
A VERY LARGE OAK was
uprooted by the wind and
thrown across a stream. It fellamong some Reeds, which it
thus addressed: "I wonder
how you, who are so light and
weak, are not entirely crushed
by these strong winds." They
replied, "You fight and contend
with the wind, and conse-
quently you are destroyed;
while we on the contrary bend
before the least breath of air,
and therefore remain unbro-
ken, and escape."
Moral: Stoop to conquer.
Once upon a time, there were
two families living in the same
neighborhood, the Smiths and
the Joneses. The Smiths had
started their own business
when they were first married.
They worked hard every day
and honored their commit-ments. They were honest in all
their business dealings. After
about ten years of struggling to
make ends meet, they had all
debts paid off, a nice home,
two cars, a savings account and
several luxuries such as a big
screen TV, a spa, cell phones
and computers. They contin-
ued to prosper.
The Joneses, on the other
hand, held jobs, spent what
they had on good times, beer
and trying to keep the rent
aid. Their rented property was
always full of junk in the yard
and overgrown weeds. They
often had to ride the bus be-
cause they didnt have enough
money to get their rattle-trap
old car fixed. The Joneses en-
vied the Smiths and felt they
should have their fair share of
the wealth the Smiths seemed
to have. So, when Mrs. Jones
found herself pregnant, Mr.
Jones went to Mr. Smith and
asked for money to pay for her
see doctors. Mr. Smith said,
No, you go get an extra job or
start a side business, and then
you will have enough money.
Jones had a brainstorm. He
went back to Mr. Smith and
announced that he had started
his own business doing yard
work. He asked Mr. Smith for
work. Mr. Smith, proud of his
neighbor for wanting to better
himself, offered him a few
hours work in his yard, mow-
ing and weed-whacking. Mr.
Jones showed up an hour late
for the job, thinking it didnt
matter since he didnt have a
boss. Mr. Smith was miffed
but decided to let it ride.
Mr. Jones went right to work,
beginning with the mowing.
When he finished mowing, he
went to work with the weed
whacker. After a few minutes,
he fell to the ground, writhing
with apparent pain. Mr. Smithheard his cries and went to see
what was the matter. Jones
cried out that he had hurt his
back. Mr. Smith suggested he
go home and rest, paying him
for the work he already com-
pleted.
Smith did not hear from
Jones for quite a while. When
he did, it was through a lawyer.
Jones had filed a multi-million
dollar law suit against Smith
for his (bogus) back injury.
Smith, who did not have lia-
bility insurance, liquidated his
life savings to pay lawyers to
counter the suit. Meanwhile,
Jones filed for and received
food stamps, Medicaid, TANF
benefits and many other gov-
ernment benefits paid for by
taxpayers like Smith. Soon the
Smiths had to get a second
mortage on their home to pay
for mounting legal fees. When
it was time to pay the IRS, the
Smiths had no money left to
pay. The Smiths lost their busi-
ness, lost their home and had
to lay off their ten employees,
each of whom was eligible to
draw unemployment benefits
and many other government
freebies.
Since the Smiths could no
longer afford lawyer fees, they
settled with Jones for a few
thousand dollars. Jones
quickly squandered the money,
and soon the Smiths, the Jone-ses and all the former employ-
ees of the Smiths were on the
government dole.

Its a Dogs Lifeby Miss Daisy Duke
I am telling you right now:
My Mom has eyes in the backof her head and can see in the
dark. My peeps were on to me
about sneaking up on the sofas
after they went to bed at night
and sneaking back down when
I heard one of them get up, so
they started placing stuff on
the sofas at night where I
couldnt get up there. I havent
the slightest idea how they
knew Id been on a sofa, but
somehow they knew. Boo-hoo!
But one night I thought I
was going to outsmart em. I
got up to Moms easy chair inthe middle of the night. I had
no sooner gotten situated when
I hear a booming voice shout,
Daisy! Down! Believe you
me, I was down out of that
chair in a heartbeat!
How in the heck did she
know I was there? It was dark
in the house! Now, I have
heard Mom call that chair her
Archy Bunker chair and no
one but her can sit in it, but I
thought she just meant people,
not sweet little doggies like
me. I dont know who the heckArchie Bunker is, but appar-
ently he meant bidness about
no one sitting in his favorite
chair, cuz Mom was MAD! I
tell you she was mad! But,
why? After all, Im Queen ofthe World!
Little Mom has started call-
ing her chickens The Dixie
Chicks. When Mom asked
her why, she said they went for
four or five days not laying
enough eggs and that was
downright Un-American! I
wish I could lay eggs. Little
Mom sure prizes those eggs.
Mom says I dont have eggs
anymore cuz Ive been
fixed. Somehow that does-
nt seem fair, I guess.
One night Mom and LittleMom turned on that brightly
lighted window-like thing they
call a TV and seemed to pay-
ing great attention to it. They
both fell asleep in front it,
though, so I guess it must have
been really boring. Mean-
while, I was outside, so when
Mom got up to go to bed, she
forgot all about me and left me
outside all night without any
water. Boo-hoo. Whine,
whine! The next morning,
though, she let me in and I got
all the water and food Iwanted, curled up on my day
bed (nevermind the forbidden
furniture) and slept and slept
and slept. I guess I should be
grateful for small favors. (Sigh)
While I was out that night Ibarked and barked when a cat
headed for chicken coop. No
one is going to mess with my
Dixie Chicks! They are mine, I
tell you, all mine, even if Little
Mom collects the eggs. At least
Little Mom thanked me the
next morning for doing my job
by giving me one of her fantas-
tic cookies. Yum!
A little human boy visitor
came over one day, along with
his moms mom and dad. He
was not much taller than me. I
liked him right away cuz hesmelled like dogs and he
seemed happy and cheery.
Him and me were out in my
yard, and my peeps went
through the people door to go
out to the garage. That little
boy followed me right through
my doggy door to get to the
garage, giggling as he went. I
wasnt sure if I liked him using
my door, but when all the
grown-up humans started
laughing I decided it best to
go along to get along.
I sure am glad all the rain hasquit for now. I like playing out-
side without all those water
drops raining on my head. I get
to play and play and then come
in and sleep and then go out
and roll in the dirt, chase cats.Whew! Its a great dogs life.
Woof, woof to all my pals out
there. Talk at ya next month!
Isabelles Garden Tips
Well, we actually had a little
it of rain. Amazing! Now we
get to watch all those weeds
start growing. I sure have had
my fair share. Pulling those
weeds is quite easy right after a
rain. Have you checked on
your seedlings? Mine for the
most part seem to have made
great plants. We will know
more about 6 weeks from now.
I have great salad greens grow-
ing and will sometime this
week (February 24) start re-
lanting so that I will have lots
of great greens all summer.
Hope it all comes out as
lanned. How are you doing? I
have not heard from many ofyou this month, so I do not
know what is going on. Are
you making any new gardens
around your place?
I am thinking of planting a
grapefruit tree, since I had to
have my Orange tree cut down.
Also my olive trees either have
died or went into some type of
hibernation for a few weeks.
Still the bark is really in good
condition with green limbs, so
I just do not know what is
going on but will let you know
in April. Those trees were so
eautiful but not all things goas I planned for them to. Guess
it is up to the good Lord. I also
want to plant a couple of avo-
cado trees.
I have great compost from
the hay in my chicken coop.
Those chicken play with one
egg each day. Seems like they
attempt to play keep-a-way.
And another likes to play the
drum which is a plastic red
Folgers coffee can turned up-
side down in the feeder. It ac-
tually keeps those chickens
from messing up their food
server. Works well. Then I dis-
covered that a piece of alu-
minum screen wire cut with ahole in the middle makes a
great barrier to keep them from
messing up their water dis-
penser. They are picking up in
the egg laying department.
Using the same food as al-
ways. I do have a brooder light
on them so that they should not
molt to much (I guess that is
what it is called.), I am really
new to these chicken cycles.
If you havent started your
seedlings I would just buy
plants from the nursery. But
keep in mind here in this part
of Texas you can grow just
about year round. That means
you can start seedlings for the
fall that can carry you over the
winter with all the fresh food
you like. If we get a freeze, just
have on hand some snow blan-
kets they sell at the local nurs-
erys. Also you can get a large
piece of plastic that you can
see thru and make a makeshift
greenhouse if necessary should
a freeze come up. The freeze
shouldnt last more that a few
hours but sometimes 2-3 days
in a row.
If you have been growing for
a few years maybe it is time foryou to buy two or three differ-
ent vegetable plants to see if
you like them. If youre just
starting, stay with the plants
you know you and your family
will enjoy. Then work into new
varieties and know what you
are eating. Know what you use
to keep the plants healthy, and
in doing so you know what
you are putting inside your
body. That is very important!
Try sending me some pic-
tures of what you are doing. I
am very interested in what you
do in the gardening realm. Es-
pecially the organic side of
things. How do you keep pests from
eating your food. I have heard
of some very unusual ways.
And will print any that even
sound strange...so many of
those do work. Like pouring
beer in a lid and letting the
slugs slide in and have a drink
and then go bye, bye!Hope we get more rain as it
is desperately needed in this
area, well most of Texas even
those places who have been
having a lot of rain. Remember
Texas is in drought.
Have a fun Ides of March!

Tips to BetterPhotos
by Wayne Green
In the past I have written
bout evaluating your image
nd how to decide whether it is
omposed of mostly dark areas
r light areas or if it's balanced
venly between areas of lightnd dark. Throughout most of
y career selling photos for
se in magazines and other
ublications, transparency film
lways had to be used and ex-
osure of the film had to be ex-
ctly right for any photo to be
ccepted and purchased. Now
ith digital cameras your ex-
osure of the image can be
uite a bit under or over ex-
osed and still produce a usable
mage, however carefully ad-
usting your camera for the
ost accurate exposure possi-
le will even with digital cam-
ras achieve much better
esults and also cut down on
ny extra work in post expo-
ure software attempting to im-
rove your image after it's been
hot.
Your first step in learning
ow to achieve better exposure
s to find out what kind of me-
tering system your camera
uses and to learn how your
meter can be adapted to
change the way it measures
light coming into the camera.
Some cameras have metersthat can't be changed, so light
is measured in one way only.
Most of these cameras meas-
ure the amount of light coming
mostly from the central area of
your composition. Finding out
the exact area of the center that
is being measured will go a
long way to helping you create
better exposed photos.
For more sophisticated me-
ters, you'll need to find out the
system's different modes, how
to switch to each mode and the
area of the image that each
mode measures. Often you'llhave a spot mode, this mode
only measures the light com-
ing from a circle of a few de-
grees of the image. As you
look through your camera
there will be a circle marked
on the viewfinder to show you
exactly what small area of the
scene is being measured. The
spot mode can be extremely
useful because you can pick
out any area of your scene that
is a medium tone ( half way be-
tween white and black ) set
your exposure from the
medium tone and you're very
likely to obtain a well exposed
image that includes some detail
in the darker areas of your
scene as well details in the
lighter areas of your scene.
If you set your meter at one
of the modes that reads a large
area of the scene, you will need
to analyze the composition. If
the image contains almost all
medium toned areas or if it's
composed of just about equal
light and dark areas you can
usually get by with exposing
the shot according to what your
meter reads( auto exposure )
However if the composition
consists of primarily dark
areas, you'll have to override
what the meter indicates and
set the camera to allow less
light than the meter recom-
mends so that the abundance of
dark areas will look naturally
dark and the few light areas
will not be blown out with too
much exposure. Just do the op-
posite for a scene that has al-
most all light areas and only a
few areas of darkness. The
meter in a general automatic
mode will measure the light re-
flected from all the light, al-
most white areas and try to
create a medium toned scene,
making the light areas into
greyish medium toned areas.
If your camera doesn't have
a spot mode, another way to get
very accurate exposures is to
buy an 18% Grey Card. These
are sold at most places that sell
photo equipment and are very
inexpensive. To use them is as
simple as placing the card in
front of your camera to set ex-
posure. Just make sure that the
same amount of light is falling
evenly across the grey side of
the card as is falling on the
scene you are about to photo-
graph.
Please remember that I wel-
come questions, comments,
and ideas, just send to Wayne
