108-inch Class (10737⁄64" Diagonal) LCD Technology

The power of world’s largest LCD monitor – 108-inch Class (10737⁄64" Diagonal)

Equipped with superior environmental performance in consideration of ecological impact

Extreme size LCD PanelApproximately 93 25/32" wide and 52 3/4" high, the dynamic impact of the screen size, which roughly equals four 52" Class (52 1/32" Diagonal) monitors, brings images to life with the highest impact even in large open areas.

Low power-consumption design Reduction of substances harmful to the environmentCompared with other display technologies, the LB-1085 utilizes reduced quantities of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB (polybrominated biphenyl) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ether).

The low power-consumption design aims at reducingCO2 emissions which are one of the causes of climate change. Despite the screen being approximately four times larger than our 52-inch Class (521⁄32" Diagonal), the LB-1085 consumes substantially less power, at 1,130 W. This power saving will likely result in benefits to business users where long operation times are required.

The Most Advanced Facilities for ManufacturingLCD TVs and Monitors. Our goal with LCD was to build more than the world’s finest TVs and Monitors. We envision a world where people will use LCD monitors to access computer networks and services anytime, anywhere. And we design our LCD TVs and monitors to require fewer resources to manufacture… and less energy to enjoy. In addition to superior performance, Sharp LCD TVs and monitors have a reputation for exceptional environmental responsibility.

The Most Advanced Technology MinimizesEnvironmental Impact.Sharp’s Kameyama Plant #2 is an environmentally-friendly LCD manufacturing facility and features one of the world’s largest roof mounted solar electric systems. Waste heat is recovered for air conditioning, with the co-generation system producing about one-third of the electricity used in the plant. The 5MW solar power system, 1MW fuel cell system and co-generation system together produce about one-third of the electricity used in the plant. This keeps CO2 emissions 40% lower than if the plant relied on thermally generated power. And all of the plant’s production wastewater is recycled, purified and reused.

Sharp’s New Plant.Sharp Corporation recently announced that it will soon begin construction of a 10th generation LCD panel factory in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The new plant is scheduled to be the first LCD factory to use 10th-generation glass substrates, which are the world’s largest. At 112.2 inches by 120 inches, they are 60 percent larger than the 8th generation substrates used at Kameyama plant #2.

Environmental Product Innovations. Sharp’s goal is to minimize the environmental impact of our products by continually implementing and improving product technologies, designs and programs aimed at environmental conservation, from the materials used in the manufacture and packaging of our products, to their transportation, use and safe disposal at the end of their product life.

Sharp’s Kameyama Plant #2 in Japan is a world-class environmentally-friendly LCD manufacturing facility.

Before purchase, Sharp or a partnering company will conduct a pre-site survey to verify the delivery route and check in detail the conditions of the installation site.

In the event the delivery route is not secured or the condition of the installation site is found not suitable for the installation of the product (such as for safety reasons), Sharp and/or its partnering company may recommend against the installation of the product at the specified location.

There may be instances where reinforcement work to the floor or walls, and/or installation of a power supply (AC200-240V, single phase, 3-wire) may be required.

The included stand, or an optional Sharp approved mounting bracket is necessary for installation. When the included stand is used, anchor bolts are required to fix the stand to the floor to prevent the unit from tipping over.

The LB-1085 is designed for horizontal placement (landscape orientation) in an indoor environment. It cannot be installed vertically (portrait orientation), suspended from a ceiling, tilted or laid flat.

Sufficient work space for maintenance, and an open route to carry the unit out from the installation site must be maintained after installation. The TFT color LCD panel is made utilizing high precision technology. However, there ma be minute points on the screen where pixels may be

inactive or permanently lit. If viewed at an acute angle, there additionally may appear to be uneven brightness or color. These are not malfunctions and will not affect the performance of the LCD monitor.

The backlight used in the LB-1085 has a life of approximately 24,000 hours. (This may differ based on conditions of usage.) Backlights are replaceable by an authorized Sharp servicer. A fee will be charged for out-of-warranty backlight replacement.

The LB-1085 is built to order. Other precautions and important points will be reviewed and confirmed during the pre-installation checks.
