school students will be required to take six new PARCC tests Language Art tests in grades 9, 10 & 11 Math tests for Geometry, Algebra I and

transcripts and school performance reports, but there will not be a passing score required for graduation
The state’s current graduation tests, the HSPA and the AHSA, will disappear after the class of 2015 (current juniors) graduates

When those recommendations become available, the high school counselors will add them to the students’ list of requests. On the screen below parents and their students should focus on World Languages, elective choices, and alternates only.
SCHEDULING TIMELINE- SPRING 2014
Initial course request material will be mailed in the spring to be verified by parent.
Final recommendations regarding student placement are due May 9, 2014, which gives students ample opportunity to demonstrate ability level.
The deadline for schedule and/or placement changes is June 1, 2014.
Schedules will be given to students on the first day of school.
